I read this a long time ago and lost it- and finally I found it again after forgetting the title! A modern-ish day fairy tale romance story. I really enjoyed it. Somewhat surprised that a man wrote it. Very poetic and dreamy. I fell totally into this Australian tale.

I found this book fascinating. It's the dairy of a nurse on the Vietnam side of the war. Her diary was actually found by an American soldier and eventually returned to her family. She writes beautifully and well above her age. A unique look at the different points of view in war.

What I didn't know about women who entered convents in Italy is apparently a lot. What an amazing look at how these young women ended up here against their will. A somewhat spiritual but mostly love story about the power of perseverance.
