Boutiques & Malls Reviews

"The Mall" is this mystical place where every teenage dream comes true:  meeting friends at The Mall, seeing a movie with a new boyfriend at The Mall, shopping for prom dresses at The Mall... One-stop shopping is only one of the many reasons we're drawn to these indoor and outdoor modern-day bazaars like moths to the flame.

As much as we love the reliability of finding our favourite brands on the ubiquitous mall directory boards, other shopping aficionados live for the hunt of the next great boutique.  Independent hat makers, curated dress boutiques, and only-found-here lingerie locales are the treasures that tempt these supporters of the local economy.  Expense, justified.

The Sassy Bead Company

1 review

For all you creative ladies out there this is a great place for you! Filled with hundreds of beads and accessories the choices are endless. They have all the supplies you need to make your own jewelery, and they even hold workshops to get your creative juices flowing. If you...
Icing By Claire's

1 review

Icing is for ladies aged seventeen to twenty-seven, so it's a little more mature and chic than regular Claire's Accessories. Once you walk into once of these stores you know. I think is an even better store than Claire's Accessories- I just feel as though there are more...
Blue Angel

Just an update, I loved this store too but it NO LONGER EXISTS! It has been replaced by a store named "Cora" in the Bloor West which appears to be of the same quality but a little bit more trendy. Just thought I'd update!
Cotton Ginny

1 review

How uncool right? No one shops at Cotton Ginny. Well, sometimes I do! If I'm just looking for a simple, cheap shirt (long sleeves or a t-shirt), then I might pop in and see what they have to offer. They have good quality merchandise that lasts a long time. Also, they have...
Victoire Boutique

Another Dalhousie Street shop that is fun to look around in. They carry some local artists as well as brands like Preloved, Complex Geometries, Sunja Link, Spring & Clifton, Suzabelle, Porridge, and others. The whole grouping of Dalhousie Street boutiques are arty and unique...
Workshop Studio & Boutique

1 review

This is a really cool place if you want something unique and fun, wheather it be jewlery, a new bag, shirt, coin purse, or whatever. They offer many different styles from many artists. I think the youngest artist that they sell is a 17 year old girl. My two favourite...
Warren's

1 review

Warren's isn't a store that I often come to, but I do enjoy it. I like coming here for warm hoodies (like Billabong, etc). They have a lot of fun and cool stuff, but it is a little pricey (to me anyway). This is a good store to find Roxy, Billabong, and other related brands.
Fruits & Passion

1 review

If you always shop at places like the Body Shop, but you're a little bored of 'the usual' then you should try something new at Fruits & Passion. I love their selections of perfumes, body washes, bubble baths, etc, that you can get in the same scent (example orange cantaloupe is...
Hill Street Blues

1 review

We just checked this place out because some friends recommended it. It's quite a drive up to Thornhill but they always have buy 1 get 1 1/2 off on all designer jeans. They have decent selection (7's, Guess, Rock & Republick, Mavi, etc) but I didn't find anything I liked. I...
Shops at Friendly Center

1 review

Good selection of stores, particularly when combined with the existing (older) section to the east. Very little for menswear, however, but a great variety of items for women, children and other interests (incl. Pier 1, Barnes & Noble, etc.)
The Apple Store

We bought our very first Apple phone from the store and it wasn't anything extra ordinary. I mean the associate knew what they were talking about, but at the same time we knew what we came in wanting to buy. So it was a quick exchange of words and we just purchased it. Nothing...
Fancy Sox

1 review

I enjoy coming to this store only to find unique and funky hosiery and socks. They have many different styles, colours, and sizes. I like getting the thigh-high hosiery, because I hate wearing the full ones. This is just more comfortable to me, and you can find thigh-highs...
Billings Bridge Plaza

1 review

This would have to be one of my least favorite places to shop. There really isn't much here besides a Zellers and a Loblaws. There are some specialty shops like the LCBO, so if you need something along those lines then check out the web page mall directory. Other than that...
Mic Mac Mall

This used to be my favorite mall in the maritimes but it has really gone down hill the last couple years. There are many vacancies with many stores leaving. I only stop here if I need something at a specific store because it is a waste of time walking around. I hope that with...
Banana Republic

The clothes are very stylish and at the same time classical pieces. They have one of the greatest office wear selection that is on trend. The prices are a bit steep and something that I would shop if it is on sale, honestly.
Tommy Hilfiger

There was not anything offered in the store that wowed me. Even with the sales I can't justify buying something that cost an arm and a leg. The store was clean and easy to navigate.
Northern Reflections

I used to shop here when I was younger and didn't have much of a choice. This is basically an old lady store to me. There area few nice sweaters occasionally, but really, it's not worth taking the time searching though all the crap. They have some decent rain coats and...
Ma Zone Home Decor

Caveat emptor!! If I could I would rate this horrible place ZERO star. The shopowner's mother was such an annoyance in the shop. This shop was one of the most unwelcoming shops in here. Every shelf has a sign saying "do not touch" or "do not touch - please ask for assistance"...
United Colours Of Benetton

1 review

United Colours Of Benetton feels like a huge cult to me. I walk in and I feel like they are going to try and brainwash me or something. Their ads are bright and colourful (some are bold and insulting too actually) which try and draw you in. I've been in this store and I am...
