I used to love Aldo shoes. I bought a pair of shoe about 8 years ago from Aldo and that was my last pair I ever bought from them. Something that was in the leather (material ) burnt my foot so bad. I'm not kidding it was a chemical burn. It took layers away on my foot and I will never buy anything form there.
The store didn't believe me. It took months and a lawyer to get them to pay up.. Not an Aldo fan...
I usually go to the Polo Park Shopping Centre location in Winnipeg, MB. The sales reps there are very rude. I cannot tell you how many times I've walked into that store and had the workers there give me dirty looks and not lift one finger to help me. I can honestly say it's a struggle each time I want to try a specific size on, because I have to hunt down someone to get my size. They're supposed to at least come to you and ask if you need help with anything. The last times I've been in the store, there was no other customers in there, yet still I didn't get a greeting, a smile, nothing..the girls who worked there just sat behind the desk and didn't get up once to assist me. I will never shop there again. Horrible service every single time I go there,so I now refuse to spend my hard earned dollars there. This is the only store in Polo Park that I get treated like this mind you.
I've shopped at Aldo for many many years, but I quite often tell people that I believe the designers at Aldo hate women because their shoes are so poorly made and uncomfortable. I wear a size 10 in every store, except Aldo and they make me get a size 11 which they never carry in the store so i have to purchase it online. When i want to return it in the store, i than get a hard time from them. I have been known to buy flats and sandals from them but the heels are not made well and hurt my feet.
Once upon a time when I was in college I loved Aldo. Now, I will check it out from time to time to see the trends or if they have anything special but I have to say I fell out of love with them. The shoes aren't comfortable, the quality of stitching and materials have gone down but the prices remain quite high. I like the accessory stores more. Also the staff are for the most part pretty useless when it comes to many of the Toronto and Ottawa stores. They are usually clustered around the cash gossiping to each other.
Like I said, I do check it out though for the latest trends. I then usually go online and buy it somewhere else for a better price and a much more positive shopping experience.
