American Girl is a very successful company that has been operating south of the border for almost 30 years by mail and more recently brick and mortar stores. Recently they opened a boutique store in Vancouver and I went to the grand opening. They sell high quality 18 inch dolls and everything your child needs to go with them for creative and imaginative play! With their launch into Canada they did not include the historical dolls stating lack of store space but many, me included, hope they add them soon! They opened their retail location, a boutique, inside the large Chapters book store on Robson Street. Although much smaller than their counterparts in the US, they did manage to stock a fair amount of lovely product and your child can have their American Girl dolls hair done and have their dolls ears pierced while visiting the store. A large part of their line is also books and there is no shortage of story books, craft books and DVD's to go with their dolls. In addition they brought their Bitty Baby line to Canada which features baby dolls and accessories for little Mommy's in the 3 age group, and offers strollers, beds, clothing and everything your child needs for creative play! Drop by if you are nearby, it makes a fun mommy and me or gramma and me day outing!
