I found out on a Wednesday morning that the only spot open for me to take my graduation picture was the Thursday. I called Aveda and found out they had a spot open for 1:30pm the same day so I booked it and went for it.
When I got there, my stylist was waiting for me. She sent me downstairs to put on a robe, way better coverage than the conventional piece of cloth put across your chest.
When I came back up she asked me what I would like to drink, this was my first time here and I was loving it. I asked for water and was then seated. She told me to choose an oil, I thought it was weird that she was going to put oil in my hair but I went along with it. Then she told me to close my eyes and I got a delightful little massage!!! Did I mention this was my first time here, didn't have much time to research them so I had no idea that I was getting a massage.
After the massage and my wonderful wash, she started on my cut, she was a beginner but her manager would come by often to ensure she was on the right track and that made me feel reassured.
It took about an hour and a half but she took her time and did it right and it looked great when she was done.
My entire experience there was nothing short of wonderful. They treated me well and I got excellent service. I am definitely going there for my next haircut.
Oh and the price is superb, $39 after taxes and of course I gave my stylist an handsome tip.
If you want a salon that contains the zeal of a stylist that still has the passion for cutting hair, this is the place to go. These students are learning and willing to do a good job and you have the security of knowing that their managers are watching their every step.
