I swore I would never let anyone touch my hair other than my usual hair stylist. I got a gift certificate for the Blo Dry Bar for my birthday last year. So I made an exception. My first blow dry was last summer. I was pleased that they used Moroccanoil shampoo and conditioner because I like the smell. The enjoyment of this appointment ended right there. First off, the girl started to brush my hair from root to tip (not ends first to get the knots out). I asked her to use a comb and not to use a brush because it pulls too much hair out. She said they only had a fine tooth comb and that wouldn't work. Ok no problem, I have lots of hair so you can rip out a few. The blow dry was awful and I could tell this girl didn't know what she was doing. I told her since my hair gets quite long when it's straight it tends to go flat on top. Her solution was to TEASE the top. Let me tell you this again...She. Teased. My. Hair. I was horrified and asked her to stop. I paid and left. It took me months to regrow the hair that she broke and damaged. Furious is an understatement.
One year later I realize there is still enough money on my gift card for another blow dry. I figure I will give it one more shot because maybe I just got a moron last time. My appointment was yesterday. Started off really nice, I got a lovely woman who took her time and washed my hair (no Moroccanoil shampoo this time). Then she brushed my hair (again, root to tip – do these people not know?!). I told the girl who was doing the blow dry what an awful experience I had last time and the damage it caused so I was a little weary about my appointment this time around. She tried reassured me that it was probably just the person and she definitely would not tease. She did, however, burn my head. Twice. I was not happy with the finished product at all and when I woke up this morning it was curly again. Not as curly as my natural curl, but almost. And you would think with all that heat she was using it would have stayed straight.
I would like to mention that a friend of mine went to get her hair done last year and was very happy with it. I don't know what the problem is, and I don't really care to find out because whatever it is, that was the very last time I will be going there.
