Wow - what a great day we had at Buff. For my daughter's 13th birthday I decided to take her and 2 friends for a manicure and pedicure treat at Buff. The girls each had express manis and pedis while I had the Buff Lounge manicure. It was such a treat - the girls loved the great decor and the service was top notch. The girls really enjoyed the pampering and attention provided by the staff - and I love their manicures. The Buff polish is the best I have ever used - it stays on longer than any other polish I have used - and I like the fact it doesn't contain unnecessary chemicals.
Thanks to the team at Buff for giving us such a great experience!
I went here in July 07 with two girlfriends. We were initially impressed. It is a really lovely spot. Pretty and pink with lovely benches and fabulously scented scrubs that are homemade by the owner. However, we had a very bad experience. The manager is a chain-smoking drill sergeant. She was curt from the outset, seemingly upset that we all were having lounge manicures and pedicures. She was more concerned about the customers who would show up after us and not be able to get in for an hour. (They don't take appointments).
And don't even try to change your mind about the service you want, the manager will yell at you!! Just ask the sweet esthetician who were giggling and equally shocked at her behaviour! As for products, I do not recommend their in-house polish. It is thick and bubbles! I took mine off immediately. Bring your own OPI or Essie - they don't carry either.
I came here with a friend for the martini thursdays where you get snacks and a chocolate martini or cosmo with your manicure or pedicure. I went for a pedicure and chocolate martini. The place looks very nice on their website but when I visited I thought they could do a wee bit better on the ambiance. For example the radio was playing and I hate hearing commercials when I'm getting pampered. Find it very annoying and then of course you get all of the static. Also the floors needed a good sweeping. All in all, a cute place, great location on Front street (@ Jarvis) and I like the idea of the martini night. I've had better pedicures. They didn't spend a lot of time buffing or massaging so I probably wouldn't come here on a regular basis, but it's a fun thing to do with a friend or two and the prices are reasonable.
