When I saw the clean & trendy Buff Nail Lounge I was excited to try it. No appointments necessary? Love it! So on a day of shopping with my friend we thought we'd try it out.
My mother is a successful aesthetician for 30 years & aesthetics teacher in the Windsor area, so I feel I know my pedicures. This unfortunately was a glorified polish change. For $38 (basic pedi) you get a soak, file, weak 2 min scrub & polish. Any callouses, dry skin, cracked heels, or cuticles went unattended.
At the end of my pedicure, when the aesthetician applied the quick dry oil, she hit my big toe and smudged the polish. After she told *me* I had to be careful (?!?!) she begrudgingly fixed my polish by putting two more coats overtop of the existing smudge. The end result was my putting shoes on 5 hours later and the polish peeling right off. Not two weeks later, my polish cracked and chipped. I had to pay another $20 tip to get another salon to fix Buff's mistakes so my toes looked acceptable.
They were nice enough but the actual service & product they use is extremely disapointing.
I normally go to a salon in Mane Society in Richmond Hill near where I live, and the service is outstanding. They use excellent products (Gehwohl & OPI) and for $40 tip your feet are transformed. I will never stray again!
