I don't get to Toronto as often as I would like, but when I do I always make sure to have at least one meal at the Canyon Creek Chophouse on Front Street. The meal is usually my most expensive dining experience on my trip but it is something I save up for and look forward to indulging in. This is the one place where I will enjoy three courses and a full bottle of wine. The wine selection is always good. The food is always delicious. And the service is always friendly and quick. I enjoy the atmosphere in this restaurant. It is the perfect place to have a romantic date or a nice evening with a friend. I can't wait to go back and I suggest it to all my friends travelling to downtown Toronto!

Love Niagara location and the view at night is just so beautiful...we have visited numerous times and have only encounter a couple of times when the steak was not up to par but overall always have a great time here.

Canyon Creek is a chain... with about 3 locations in the GTA. I was there a post-work meal. We were greeted at the door with a friendly and prompt welcome. We decided to have dinner in the bar... casual and comfortable atmosphere. They have drink specials each night of the week.... I think Friday was a beer deal. We tried the warm goat cheese appetizer and this was great... except I didn't love the 'toast' they gave with it: crispy bland crackers. The steaks are really good at Canyon Creek... I have enjoyed them in the past. This time I had the local menu chicken with goat's cheese (approx $16)- I love that they are sourcing fresh, local, seasonal food. This arrived looking wonderful and the veggies and sauce were perfect, but the chicken was a bit bland. It needed some spice to better blend these flavours and the goat cheese should have been creamier. My date had a roast beef sandwich (approx $12) which came with great fries and cooked to perfection.

I will say this ... for our visit the staff were excellent... every one of them. Was this because we were a bit early for din? I am not sure, but I really liked the welcome. I think this place is much better than the Milestones/ Keg/ Il Fornello experiences... though you may pay a bit more for some items, I do genuinely like the food a lot better. There is a good range of food options and prices. I will definitely go back... and with the good service, I would take clients there.

I have to say though, I have had less than stellar service a couple of times when I've gone to the Front Street one.

I'm VERY picky when it comes to dining out at restaurants. Recently, we decided on Canyon Creek as our choice for our date night. I cannot say enough about how great EVERYTHING was about the location in Toronto. Amazing food, beautiful/cozy atmosphere and outstanding service!! Our waiter went above and beyond for us and even sat down for a few minutes to chat with us!! Too bad I can't remember his name :( The price was a bit high, but that is obviously to be expected at a Steak House. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a great, relaxing night out!!

My husband and I ate here for our 10 year anniversary and will NEVER EVER go back. They seat us in a table towards the back and as we are sitting there my husband notices his back and butt our wet? Then water starts dripping down from the ceiling. We quickly get up and notify a server, and after standing there for 10 minutes they get us another table, and say don't worry about the water it was only dishwater from upstairs...Can you say disgusting? Meanwhile my husbands shirt and pants are wet.
So.....we order and they bring me my steak, which is sooo tough I can't cut it, never mind eat it. The waitress comes and asks how everything is, and I explain about the steak...and she asks me if I have ever eaten steak before? because that is how it always is? I explain that we eat regularly at THE KEG and I know how steak is supposed to taste and be cooked. She takes the steak away, never even offers another one? Appetizers never showed up at all. They remove the steak from the bill, and the none existant appetizers, and comp one of my drinks...made my husband pay for his meal....No apology for the wet clothes, no manager even approached us to say sorry.
Definately not impressive. Only good thing was music playing. :(

I agree with chococrazy. Canyon Creek is fabulous. I used to work close to their location across from Sherway Gardens and went there all the time for lunch with my coworkers. Every dish is delicious and they have a very nice wine selection. This is so much better than all the other chains out there. My favorite dishes are the cedar plan salmon and their salad with raspberry vinagrette with chicken on top. We also love the Ironstone wine.

If you've never been to Canyon Creek Chophouse, you need to try it! After I visited this restaurant a few years ago, I have only been to the Keg once. I have never had anything from their menu that I didn't like; the service is really good, and I -love- their caesar salad! Everything is worth it about this place. My price is including taxes, tips and one drink.
