This buffet is located on Mountain Road in Moncton, NB. I'm always very skeptical about new restaurants, although I like trying new things, I absolutely hate having a bad experience and above all wasting money on that experience. China House was a complete surprise. The first time we went there, it was fairly new to the city, maybe a couple months old. First thing I noticed was the decor. The ceilings are unfinished which gives it a very modern feel, especially with the light fixtures hanging down. The seating arrangements were very cozy, ranging from booths to larger tables and chairs. I had my toddler with me at the time, and the high chair they had was an old style wooden one, very sturdy. As we sat down, the waitress took our drink orders. Their english was not perfect but we were definitely able to understand them and they were all very friendly and even spoke to my child which I found very appealing (I hate it when people don't acknowledge my kid, she's very friendly and talks to everyone, but when someone ignores her, I get very angry lol). As we approached the buffet selection, to my surprise everything was full, steaming and fresh. Usually at a buffet you'll see a few things dwindling down to the last couple servings, and even sometimes don't look as fresh, but they keep all there selections stocked up constantly and I even saw them remove some that weren't completely empty yet and bring brand new food out to keep everything fresh. All the food tasted good, I even tried a couple things I wouldn't normally eat. Here is another thing that is wonderful. You know how most bars and restaurants charge you up the *** for alcoholic drinks and they are totally watered down anyway. Well, I ordered a double (expecting the watered down drink) Long Island Iced Tea. When I took my first sip, which I can usually handle without making a face, I made a face, it tasted like a quadruple. I don't know if they just don't know how to mix alcoholic drinks or if that's what a double is supposed to be like, but it was amazing, I didn't have to order more, the one was fine for me. So to cut things short, if you live in Moncton, NB or are passing by, make sure to stop by here, you won't regret it, although if you are just passing through you may have to rent a room due to the fullness you'll feel afterwards, may not be able to drive. Happy eating :)
