Our family has bin visiting Colasanti’s Tropical Gardens since I was just a small girl. It’s located in Ruthven Ontario and is surrounded by the towns of Kingsville and Leamington, the home of the tomato. It was always a big treat to be taken out to see all the big fruit trees such as the lemon and orange tree’s that he had growing in side of his huge green house’s. We hadn’t ever seen living tree’s like this in Ontario, it was amazing to all of us kids. The wild animal’s they have there as part of the gardens is also a nice part of Colasanti’s, as many of us have never seen animals like them other then on TV. Like giant snakes and tropical birds such as the Macaw’s. They have just about every kind of plant you can think of for sale, from Cactus of all types’ tropical plants to lemon and orange trees. They have plants that you can buy for indoors, or out, they have a restaurant inside if you get hungry from all that walking around and they’ll even do catering and birthday parties and much, much more. Colasanti’s is a nice place to take the kids and spend the day especially if it’s cold and snowy, or a rainy day. If you ever make it to this part of Canada then Colasanti’s Tropical Garden’s is a must see know matter what your age. They’re open Monday to Thursday from 8 am to 5 pm and Friday to Sunday from 8 am to 6 pm. Prices differ depending on what you want to do ounce you get there, but the last time we were there admission to the green house’s was free.
