Dr. Tessler might have lot of experience & knowledge in her field. But all that is in vain if a doctor is not honest with her patients. I have been complaining of acute pain in right side of my abdomen and was told that it would go away in second trimester. But as it didn't, I asked if it could be stones or cysts or worst case appendix pain. The ultrasound report confirmed a small cyst but when I asked the doctor she said that I don't have any cyst. Then I told her that I have read the report and then she changed her statement to "yes., there is but its small and nothing to worry". She is probably right that I shouldn't worry about small cyst but how she could she lie about the report as a doctor. Most of the times, patients don't get to read the reports and have to trust the doctor. How can I ever trust her now. And interestingly she has never asked me a single question about the pain - as in intensity, location or frequency. How can she arrive at conclusions without asking a single question or diagnosis? Are we saying that these problems cannot happen in pregnancy. Mostly not but yes there are few cases and the least the doctor can do is ask relevant questions. For every question I asked on any topic, she has a standard answer in exactly four words - its normal during pregnancy.
Dr. Tessler is a horrible and incompetent doctor. I was 26 when I saw her, I bled out all over her examination table, shaking and clearly not well. She saw the troublesome "lump" that was bleeding non stop on my cervix and told me there is nothing wrong with me, to go home and let my body heal by not using tampons anymore or wearing tight clothing. She didn't due her due diligence by giving a LUMP on my cervix a biopsy or even a culture test she sent me on my way and told me there was no reason to book a follow up appointment.
In truth, it was stage 3 cervical cancer and now I am 28, live with constant pain from scar tissue in my womb, sleep 3 hours a night and have to go to work sleep deprived and in constant pain, all because she is a disgrace of a doctor. She is not a good doctor, maybe she's okay if you have something basic that needs a little help, but if you have something serious she is not willing nor intelligent enough to do her job as she vowed to do when she took her oath. #baddoctorskillpeople
Thanks Dr. Tessler, now I will never have children of my own and you let my illness grow for 13 months before a walk in doctor stepped in and did what you couldn't.
The dr is good and to the point. She used to have this great receptionist. The one she has now is abrupt- I feel like I have to tiptoe around her or she might bite my head off. She also does not answer her voicemail messages.
she is kind of intimidating, and speak really fast.
but she does sound really knowledgeable and provides you with option. she also encourages you to call for another appointment at anytime if you feel you need to see her again, which is nice bc most specialist i've ever seen never offered this simple one liner!
unlike ali, she didn't even remember why i was back to see her, and it was only 2 weeks ago =(
but i do recommend her bc she really strict to the point and tells you as it is. and you're in and out! no need to take a day off work!
I am very impressed with Dr. Tessler. I have had two appointments with her so far, the first being a meet and greet and the second, a physical exam.
She is very friendly and tries to remember personal details about her patients. The wait time is very short and she is efficient and fast without you feeling processed or like a number. Best of all the physical exam is quite expeditious, which diminishes the feelings of being violated. It was definitely the least uncomfortable exam I've ever had.
Most of her patients are pregnant and seem quite happy there from what I've seen so far. I think she is an excellent Doctor and would recommend her to anyone. The only thing is, I don't know if she is taking new patients at this time.
