We have been going to her for our two children over a period of 10 years. We never have to wait too long, she is personable, friendly and professional. Highly recommend.
Dr. Preeti Jain - Compassionate Partner in Family Care
Dr. Jain has been my daughters doctor for 12 years. I am a single mom of Trinidadian culture. I switched to Dr. Jain when i found that my daughters previous doctor treated my young baby daughter roughly and without compassion.
Dr. Jain has been a source of comfort, understanding and generosity!!! My daughter has Asthma and I was often running back and forth to her and the hospital with numerous ailments that would arise in my daughters life. Her compassion and understanding was pioneering. Something that all doctors should emulate. She always explained things clearly and never in the doctor jargon as one doctor did when i took my daughter to emergency (needless to say i took my daughter and left that hospital).
Dr Jain, is a doctor who works with you collaboratively for the care of you and your family. She also understands the stress you may be under as a single mother.
I highly recommend her as a partner for your children and family
Grateful Mother.
Love Dr Jain!
We have been seeing Dr Jain for 11 years now! She is absolutely fantastic. My kid has special needs, so we have seen her a lot over the years, and sometimes I worry that I am "that parent" that takes her kid to the doc too often, but she always says she would rather see him too much than too little. Never had a problem getting a same day appointment when we've needed it, either. When we've needed referrals to specialists, they are handled very quickly and the specialists have been real experts in their fields. I have recommended her to others, and they love her too!
Only complaint would be from my kid that "all the books in the waiting room are for babies." He's at "that" age.
Dr. Jain is a very thoughtful, friendly doctor who has been extremely interested in our children since the day they were born. I live quite far from her office but i won't switch because i know i won't find anyone else as good.
Dr. Jain is over rated and her patients (our baby) are treated like cattle, in and out. She does not offer any advice or personal care. You will have to have a list of questions to ask and literally block the door as another poster mentioned. Her clinic is about getting as many patients as possible. Also, she does not review the records of our baby and assumes things that aren't accurate. Find another pediatrician!
I have to disagree with the one other comment. Though she is pleasant and is knowledgable, she rushes through our appointments and other clients said the same. She is in & out of the clinic room in 5 minutes or less; yet you can wait up to 30 minutes past your appointment time to see her. My husband had to block the door on more than one ocassion to get her to answer our questions. I checked out what she charges OHIP for our visits and it is misleading. We finally left her when another child doctor was available. Be VERY careful when choosing your child's doctor.
Dr. Jain has been a practicing pediatrician for many years, in addition to working at SickKids hospital and having 4 children of her own. She's a very nice woman and I feel confident not only in her abilities, but like her way with children. She's great with answering questions and I do not feel rushed during our appointments.
The only thing I don't care for is the location of her office. It's at Bloor/Christie Pits area and it's a little bit rougher of a neighborhood than I care for. Also the entrance to the building is quite small and difficult to maneuver a stroller through. There is no handicap button to open the doors. I get my stroller stuck every time.
Despite my reservations about the location, her office itself is clean and bright. There are a lot of signs at reception about being patient with long wait times, etc but I have never had a long wait so far.
So far my husband and I are very pleased with her care.
It's been awhile since I wrote this review. I now have two kids and both see her. First of all there is now a handicap button at the entrance so doors are no longer a problem. The area is not scary like I originally thought. It is perfectly safe.
Dr. Jain has been absolutely wonderful for both of my kids. She and her staff have given us such excellent care over the past 4 years. Both of my kids like her, she remembers everything about them and I couldn't be happier with her as a doctor. If I could change my rating it would be the full 5 stars.
