I have been going to Elmwood, mainly for massage therapy, over 5 years now. Usually I will go there after work to unwind. But recently I have been going early Saturday mornings. I prefer after work on a weekday because it's way less busy. I would like to mention that I don't have loads of spa experience to compare this one to.

When you walk in the door at Elmwood you're greeted with a calm atmosphere and hot towel for your hands. After checking in and receiving your spa menu, you're escorted to the elevator and sent up to the second floor changerooms to change into your spa robe and slippers, you will stay in these for the duration of your time at the spa. The changerooms are quite a pleasure to be in and include usual changeroom amenities as well as a steamroom and hot tub (use of water facilities are included with any massage), as well as an array of shower gels, cream, hair styling products, etc. I am told that the men's room has a television. Once you've changed and locked up your things you can use the water facilities, grab a snack at the juice bar or go straight to your treatment room to begin your service.

On the top floor there is a restaurant called Terrace Restaurant. You can add a 3-course spa lunch for $29 a person which I think is a great deal. I've only tried the spinach and artichoke dip and steak frites - they are very nice.

It is clear that all of the employees have been trained very well to be extremely professional, cater to all of your needs and make sure your time at the spa is very soothing. Between the service and care all of the employees take - this is, by far, the best spa I have been to.
