This place has to be one of the best salons i have ever been. I've lived right beside this salon for over a year and now that I have finally got my hair done in the salon, I have to say I'll never change...at least not anytime soon. the staff was really friendly...didn't wait long for my appointment...the look of the salon is really cool..and BEST OF ALL my stylist spent time listening to me and giving me several options before deciding upon which cut and style to get. Ladies...I recommend this ONE!!!!
I have been looking for so long for a hair god. Well i finally found one Leslie at evoke salon. She did a great job, it is so easy for me to take care of at home. I found all the people there to be so nice and friendly. Thank you evoke salon
Got my hair styled at Evoke on Saturday and the salon blew me away. First of all, i didnt wait for my stylist, ASHLEY, at all. She was ready for me ass soon as I walked in. She even had my coffee, just the way I liked it, ready for me. She was a sweetheart and gave me a great cut and style. I will always be a loyal client to Evoke.
I totally agree some of the comments here. I went there as a result of a web search, couldn't really get a good salon from my friends, and it is very close to my place. I went and asked for a really experienced one and I mentioned that I had earlier bad experiences in some other salons. They said, everybody there is very experienced. I trusted for some reason I don't know, the place and the people looked very professional to me (maybe some really are) Before I sat down the chair, I looked at the magazine and found a few styles that would go nice to me, not a very different from my current one, just layers and a little bangs, just to make sure she understands what i want for my hair. She just glanced it a bit and started cutting. She was nervous, trembling and slow. At the end I had a hair full of visible scissor cuts and unblended layers. It is cut so bad that I can't give it any style!
We need TALENTED hairdressers. Because it is expensive and has a stylish place, it doesn't mean that it is good. Does anybody knows one? or I will have to cut my hair forever myself.
Ok I have mixed feelings about this one, I have been going here for just over a year and I find that some staff members are better skilled then others and that irks me, when your paying the same high price! One time I came here for a very special occassion and I was SO disappointed. Not only did the colorist cause me to be extremely late cause she underestimted the time, even though I was a repeat customer and she knew my hair and I had warned her that if she couldn't do it within my time frame, then I wouldn't get the service that day (promises were broken). But she also attempted to style my hair because the hairdresser I HAD booked was busy, lesson learned, colorists should color, stylist should style, I ended up in tears and over an hour late. Nevertheless my boyfriend did call his usual stylist at the salon and told him what happend, this individual made up for it by asking me to come in and fixed everything for free and he did a great job. So again service and quality changes from person to person!
I love this place!!! I've been going to Evoke for 4 years now, and they've never done me wrong. I've been colouring my hair for 2 and a half years now, and every time I'm happier than the last. Also, they always cut my hair in a way that makes me look great, and a little funky (like I ask, but always appropriate for my home styling skill!) A little pricey, but worth it every time!
I had a hair perm at this salon. Well, the hair colorist was the one who did it and he was awful. He didn't talk to me the whole time, had difficulty putting on the rollers (probably because he doesn't have the habit) and didn't do a trim afterwards because he doesn't know how to cut hair!
Well, I came out of there looking weird and everybody in the salon was looking at me. The whole procedure lasted 2.5 hours. Nobody asked if I wanted something to drink.
It cost me $110 plus tip. Also, it was very dry and coarse and I couldn't wash it so the solution kicks in.
3 days later, I went to another salon where the hairdresser told me that my hair was very dry and burned. She gave me a conditioning treatment and did a cut. My hair was saved. (The salon was Andre Pierre on Bloor in the Manulife Centre. Ask for Nicole)
I am never going back there again to Evoke. It's a very snotty place.
Yonge & Eglinton, Toronto 416-482-4247 I came here for highlights once and thought they did a great job. I had received a gift certificate to come here, otherwise I wouldn't have gone all the way to Yonge and Eglinton to get my hair done. Nevertheless, it was worth the trip just because the staff was so wonderful and attentive and the colorist really did a great job with my hair. If I wasn't so busy and it wasn't so far away, this would definitely be my salon of choice (at least for color, I haven't tried the cuts yet).
