I went to the St.Anne's road location to get my eyebrows waxed before my friends wedding. I had been there before a couple of times & had o.k experiences, so I went back. Each time I got someone new...so this time was no different. (In hindsight, this should've tipped me off that this is probably not a quality place to go....live & learn I guess) I asked her to just clean up my eyebrows & not take too much off. Well she took half my eyebrows.....she took the nice shape that I had away & gave me skinny little horrible half moon eyebrows!!!! I will never go back there, it was a terrible experience!!! If you pay $$ for a service, you expect to get someone who knows what they're doing....this girl obviously did not!!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND FINGERS AND TOES ON ST.ANNE'S RD....IN FACT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR YOUR EYEBROWS, don't let them ruin your eyebrows like they ruined mine!!!
My ratings for this spa could easily be changed if they advertised it for what it is - a place for esthetician students to come and do their practicums.
I've gone there twice and had the same experience with two different estheticians. Both times, the estheticans all talked with each other about their personal lives while working, and also discussed how their practicums were going. The quality of the work was that of students and not of experienced professionals. This is fine, however, I think the advertising and the price for this type of establishment does not match the quality and experience of the employees.
I will likely not go back there because if I am getting my nails done, I want the color to last and look well done. Also, if I wanted a quick mani/pedi and didn't care too much about a super high quality look, I might go there if the price was cut and if I knew exactly what types of employees are hired. I think it's important to know if there are students or professionals working.
The Girls at Fingers and Toes work together as a team. They made me feel at home in their adorable little shop. They treat you like a friend, they offer tea and /or coffee. They didn't make me feel like they were rushing through my services and they let me stay as long as I wanted to dry. And when I went to leave one of the girls helped me put on my shoes!! I have a future booking there for my pre bachelorette party- they reserve the whole shop to your party, if you request it. It's going to be a blast, we're bringing our own food and having some drinks! YEPPIE!
I would 100% Recommend this place. I have been going to the Spa on Henderson Hwy for a number of years. It is small and very relaxed. I have also tried out the St. Anne's Location as well. It is a different set-up but the same great atmosphere. The service is always good and they are willing to listen to and give feed back on all my questions and stories. They actually interact with their clients, it feels more relaxed and that they actually care. Some times they like to talk but it is at least in a language I can Understand.
Generally speaking the services here are quite good. I've had the manicure, pedicure, facial and bikini wax, all of which I was satisfied with. The Service is good, but there are a few who work there who will literally yak your ear off! I could deal with that except for one girl who works there said some really offensive things to me while I was there getting my nails done for my wedding. as a result, I'm kind of boycotting the place... but I definately recommend the facials... the woman who does them is more proffessional than her co-workers!
I've gotten manicures and pedicures here several times, usually before weddings. I got my nails done here for my wedding and was really disappointed with the results. My nails were so bad they had to be redone and in the end it still looked homemade. I felt like they booked me with the least experienced person on the team and I WAS THE BRIDE!! Also, like mamaluv mentioned, one of the staff is overly chatty to the point of awkward. Like, she wouldn't stop jabbering about her boyfriend and her life and I felt like to ruined my experience. I didn't feel relaxed at all. Other than that, its a cute enough place, but I wouldn't go here for a spa type experience. If they get rid of the chatterbox and make sure they have only qualified estheticians, i might consider going back.
This family-owned business is located in a cutesy redecorated house on Henderson Hwy in Winnipeg. The whimsical decor adds to the intimate atmosphere. For a small group, you can book the place yourself. The salon has 3 pedicure stations and 2 manicure stations in the back room, and another manicure station in front. They also have waxing services (I haven't tried that yet). Unfortunately, I was not wowed by the mani/pedi I received, but was very irritated by the unchecked banter provided by the nail techs reminiscent of a bad night on "Simple Life". However, considering the low price, it's an acceptable alternative to the high-end salons.
