On January 15, I went to join Fitness at parkway mall. They had one girl at the front dest and a manager name George. I paid my money, tried to do a work out, more than half the machines were not working. The toilets are nasty and are NOT IN WORKING CONDITIONS. The gym smells. They have no cleaning service. Request a walk around, especially the toilet area.
When I requested my money back an hour later, the manager, George refused to give it back; he has a bad temper and was yelling at me to leave the gym without my money or a copy of my contract.
I had to call the POLICE and file a report against the gym. Today, January 16, I am going back to the gym to get my money with a POLICE ESCORT; I do not trust the manager, George, he has a bad temper and a filthy mouth.
For all the people this gym owes money to, call the police and make a report. This gym is a modern day scam.. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM.. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND "NOT" TO JOIN THIS GYM..

If you google Fitness One gym reviews, you'll get a sense of how this gym operates. This gym is full of frauds especially it's CEO John Wheeler! They have been evicted in many of their locations including Malvern, Concord (Head Office), Dufferin. What's alarming is that they continue to bill clients although they have been evicted. There is no such thing as head office because the numbers are out of service and clients are not sure as to where to go. The only gym open is the Victoria Park and Ellesmere site and many have gone in to cancel their memberships. Staff at these locations have indicated that the so called head office has now relocated to the VP site but you would never find a single soul there that represents head office there. People have tried to contact John Wheeler even the law firms that represent the sites that have been evicted, and no luck! Long story short, many women have been scammed, continued to be billed, many employees have yet to be paid and this is a scam! You can't beat the price! I was a member at the Parkway Mall location and now am with Malvern. I've read so many bad reviews about Fitness One in general and I also had two friends who weren't too happy with them but personally I have no complaints. The Parkway Mall location is a bit small and a lot of the machines were broken and hardly ever repaired but you get what you pay for. The Malvern location - I've been going there for almost a month and I love it there. I love how big it is, the availability of the machines and for being a member for less than a month I've already seen a few machines (broken) get fixed/replaced already. Yeah the washroom and change room is kind of dingy but whatever. As for those people complaining about getting ripped off - there is an option to pay for a year upfront. When I signed up with Malvern I was lucky. There was a promotion and I also had the option to pay for a year upfront which ended up being about $256 or so - $19/month! Yeah maybe a lot of people can't fork over the cash/lump sum but I was also weary about the messed up payments that other people have been posting about and I didn't' want to experience that - so paying the lump sum it was. Anyways - I'm a very happy customer and recommend this place (well Malvern at least) for those that are trying to save money and want a decent gym and equipment.

on February 22,2012 I become member. A few days later I changed my mind on February 26,2012 I cancelled my membership.The person at the from desk told me within few days they will refund my money which is $65.00.
A week went by I called the gym asking them about my money, lady told me she will email the head office and get back to me. No one called me or emailed me.I called them again I was told the same thing. I tried calling their head office and i left messages no one has called me. It has been three weeks today's date is March 15,2012 and no one has called.
"what's so funny about this gym they called my home a few time when they wanted me to join their gym and now when it's time to pay me back my $65.00 they can't"

i highly don't recommend this GYM
