Think I might have found my new salon! Hair wash great, hair cut was great, everyone was nice and professional. The salon was clean and inviting, prices are fair, and I was started and finished on time.

A horrible experience! The stylist/owner did not do what I asked for but something else entirely different and was extremely rude and agressive when I told him the color was completely wrong and he cut too much off. I've never had a problem with one side of my hair behaving differently then the other, like a cowlick, but after he cut my hair it was like I had two different haircuts on each side. The color was really off and unnatural looking.

I started going to Gabiani Hair Moda five years because the salon is so close to my work. They are all friendly, professional and give me personalized service. I always get a wash, cut, style and hair highlights.

I asked for subtle reddish brown highlights that would like like they could be natural. What I got was screaming burgandy and orange streaks, just like the picture on the magazine he kept nearby. It seems I was paying to be experimented on.

On a younger person, the look might have been gutsy, if it had been done with some skill. On someone of my age...well, the sad truth is I looked like a barking mad old skank that just ran through an assembly line where cars are spray painted.

I hope someone gets a laugh out of this and avoids this "stylist" like ebola because getting your hair done in this "salon" is as thrilling as projectile vomiting, exploding diahrea and bleeding from the eye sockets as your organs slowly dissolve.

I would NOT recommend this place for anybody who values customer service. Also if you would like your stylist to listen to what you want before he goes ahead and butchers your hair, DO NOT go here.

I was on time, but they made me wait 20 minutes while two of the stylists did their own hair and sang loudly and obnoxiously to the music playing.

Gabi cut my hair but was also doing another girl's foils next to me. I voiced concerns about this and so he made her wait while he finished my hair. He did not listen when I explained what I wanted and instead cut my hair how he wanted. When I opted to not have my hair "styled" he shoved a mirror in my hand while my hair was still soaking wet and said he was done. I guess their "style" includes drying the hair. I walked out with a cut I did not like, soaking wet hair, and an awful feeling from the horrible customer service.

I had a relaxer, trim and style done. I had brought my own chemical straightening product so he said he would charge me $55 for the service - OK, I didn't mind. However, when he mentioned that he it would be an extra $30 to blow dry my hair after washing the product out, I was not impressed. He said if I didn't pay then he would just towel dry my hair. I have been to many hair salons, including Holtz Spa, and they would never let their client walk out with damp hair.

Even washing the product out of my hair was a struggle for the other stylist as I had to sit there with my head in the sink for 15 minutes - NOT IMPRESSED! I was like, "Is there a problem?". To make matters worse, they spoke Lebanese and didn't let me know what they were doing with my hair - very unprofessional.

We came to an agreement that I would pay an extra $35 for the "Artistic Director's" cut and style (which is priced at $50) and that was a huge mistake. I had showed him a picture of a 40's retro style and he did not do anything even remotely close to that. He flipped out the back, which I could have done, and curled out some bangs - even tho it was supposed to be wavy/ringlets. I told him I had expected a polished look and he said there was only so much he could do with my hair. Sorry, but the black hair salon's never had a problem styling my hair and it always came out bouncy and shiny.

The styling was amateur at best and even before leaving the salon, the style was starting to come undone.

Please, if you have black/African hair, do not go to Gabiani's hair salon. Turn right back around and run away!!!
