I've been here a few times for events, but I recently came here with my husband for our 5 year anniversary. This is supposed to be one of Toronto's nicest restaurants and they have this gorgeous outdoor courtyard so we thought it would be perfect. I don't know if it was because it was the Thursday before the long weekend, but everything was just so-so.

We both ordered the Chef's tasting menus, which were $85 each for a 5 course meal. It took 3 hours in total for all of the courses to be served. This was a bit too long. By the time I was half way through I was already full and could hardly finish the rest of it. We noticed others around us who were seated well after us that were getting faster service. In all honesty, this part wouldn't have mattered that much if the food was amazing. Unfortunately it wasn't. It was kind of 'meh'. I've had much better food here on other occasions so maybe it was a different staff or something. Our server noticed we were waiting a very long time and topped up our wine as consolation.

One hazard of eating outside (especially if you happen to be sitting under a tree) is that you may be pooped on by a bird, which I was. That isn't anything the restaurant can control obviously, it was just par for the course.

The chocolate dessert was heavenly. It was the best part of the meal.

Bottom line: For the price, we both thought this would be better. I would try eating here again on the chance our experience was due to our timing so close to the long weekend, but I'm definitely disappointed overall. The only reason I'm saying "You Betcha" for this review is because I have had much better food here before for events, but if I were to rate it based solely on this dinner, I'd say Fugheddaboutit.
