Meh
I often see stuff on Groupon but rarely any local deals that I am super interested in - I would def purchase from Groupon for wine tours or touristy activities in Toronto or Niagara Falls etc etc. As someone who works at a spa where Groupons are redeemed, I find the people who come in with the promos very difficult to deal with....they get very upset if they have to upgrade and are always shocked when they have to pay taxes. I cringe when clients tell me they "have a groupon" and this stigma makes me avoid the site altogether even for my personal purchases etc.
can find some good deals
I like to browse through Groupon to see what kind of deals they're offering. Sometimes, they'll have great deals. Other times, it seems like they are just trying to get you into the store.
Worth a Look!
I have purchased a few awesome deals from them. You do however, have to weed through to find deals, but it is worth it. I got tickets for Canada's Wonderland for a steal and everything went very smoothly. I also was able to try out a couple subscription boxes for a really good deal without having to commit to the subscription. I would suggest reading all fine print closely and your experience will be a lot less stressful.
Depends on what you are buying from groupon. Lots of people don't read fine prints anymore but when you purchase anything from Groupon, you gotta learn to read the fine prints especially if it's a service or travel or even vouchers. Be aware of the expiration dates. I have purchased a lot of things from this site since 2011. I'm lucky enough that I didn't have any bad experience from them. I love how they have local deals and lots of goods lately. I buy stuff to from Aliexpress or Wish.com and I think it's very comparable when you are using groupon. Groupon ships items faster than buying stuff from aliexpress.
I love using Groupon for local deals. We like to dine out and go to local events, so we use Groupon. AWESOME deals!!! I love that Groupon always has promotion codes to use to get an extra 15-20% off. If you decide you didn't want to purchase something and would like a refund, it is super easy to do and you are automatically refunded. Only downfall, I wish they had more of a selection of local groupons.
Groupon has great local deals for food, hotels and the like, but be careful when ordering physical goods, especially tech. Often it's made in China, sold for three times higher than Ebay and the like and not good quality. A mixed bag, great site but know what you're getting into!
Groupon can be really great. Lately I have found that there is a lot of repeat on the deals which is no fun, but sometimes great deals come up again which is good! The app can be a little glitch on the phone, but online it works awesome!
I love using Groupons! It's helped me try new places and get great deals. I always recommend people look on Groupon before deciding what to do on the weekend.
I have been a Groupon user for many years now (since 2011?). At the beginning, each deal was only valid for 24 hours and was at least 50% off. Gradually there have been more deals so you have more time to make decisions, but it also appears that there are new deals less often (or the brand new ones are simply harder to find when there are hundreds available!) and it can be hard to know exactly when a deal will no longer be available. Currently I keep an eye out for deals when I am planning nights out, haircuts or when I have specific gift ideas in mind. There are also often codes for additional discounts on particular types of Groupon deals that come up regularly so, if you can wait for the purchase, you may be able to take advantage of them.
