I like to buy kids clothing gifts here when there is a sale. I once got 3 items and only paid $10. That was my biggest score. I like the fact they don't over produce their items. Once its gone its gone. And you won't find 3 kids in the class wearing the same thing on the same day.
I spent most of my time on forums where women were selling Gymboree for cheaper, most were used, but in very good condition. I found that the clothes were very cute but OVERPRICED!! And you would only be able to put your kid in these clothes on an occasion for a few hours or else they would get stained and dirty..
This is a ridiculously expensive store for kids clothing. I only buy stuff from here about once a year on the May long weekend. They have a $12.99 and under sale on EVERYTHING in the store every year. The selection is getting a little less awesome though. I find that even 4 years ago they had more selection then now. I buy my daughter beautiful dresses from here but only 3 or 4 ( on sale!) because other than that there's nothing i'm interested in. I bought online this year and got Gymbucks but I couldn't use them in my store where I also had a giftcard. You had to use them online or in the US and my giftcard I had could only be used in Canadian stores. I don't think that's fair. The Gymbucks should be allowed to be used anywhere.
I love Gymboree clothes, they are very durable and always have great styles. Their prices are way too expensive though and very rarely can you find coupons for the store. I enjoy buying clothes for my kids from her but only on clearance or a really good sale.
When my daughter was little I was a gymboree addict, I would buy every piece of the lines I loved and spent more than I care to ever admit. Now just becoming a grandma to a little boy I went in and the lines were ok, quality is down from 10 years ago and I found the boy stuff to be boring but I still got a few things.
This place has very very cute clothes but is way too expensive!! Kids grow so fast that it is not worth it. I only go in if I am looking for something specific or for a special occasion and I have checked everywhere else.
I have never been talked to once in this store. No one wanting to help. Maybe we were too cheaply dresses since we prefer Carters clothes.
When you shop at Gymboree you get what you pay for.
When I discuss Gymboree with my mommy friends I hear complaints about the prices. Budget is a very big concern for my family, and I have actually saved money by shopping at Gymboree. If you are going in once every other week to pick out an outfit it can be very pricey, but if you collect coupons from magazines and emails, shop the sales ($2 for a skirt and $3 for a matching top, yes please!), collect Gymbucks and shop clearance during Gymbucks redemption you can make an absolute killing!
