Inferno's Bistro (Winnipeg) is a great place for a date or dinner out with the girls. The restaurant occupies both storeys of a converted house and has a fantastic patio -- but space is tight. You'll definitely need a reservation on a weekend, and it's probably smart to call ahead any time you plan on dining at Inferno's.

While the regular menu looks delicious, I've never actually ordered my main course from it -- I always end up being swayed by the long list of daily specials, and have never regretted that decision! The attention to detail is incredible, and everything on your plate complements everything else perfectly. The portion sizes are just right (filling but not gluttonous), and although often pricey, it's well worth it for the quality of food. I also think the price is right for the level of service, which is attentive but relaxed, always available but never pushy. The only thing I feel is overpriced is the wine (there's nothing quite like paying nearly $30 for a bottle of wine that you know retails for $10.25!), but there's such an extensive wine list that you'll always find the perfect pairing for whatever meal you're enjoying!
