I went to lux spa as part of the chick advisor product review club. I was attending to try out a new CND shellac manicure product (which I loved and have reviewed on here).

Lux Spa is located in trendy yorkville and it is very modern and clean. As with everything in yorkville prices were definitely on the high end for a shellac manicure. The manicure was well done and the staff were friendly. It was clear they were trying hard to make a good impression as they knew we were part of the review club and they would be reviewed on the service. I would love to know more about what their service is like on an average day.

The manicure was good but I really don't have anything special to say about the salon/treatment. It was clean and decently done but I just don't know that I could get over the price factor. I don't mind paying top dollar for great experiences but I do have to say that for the listed price for the service they come up average in terms of what they deliver. I definitely think there are other nail salons that offer better value for your money.

Ladies are nice, and the salon is clean and updated. I read reviews on them on Google and they were pretty split but overall had a good experience. Yorkville is right by my office so the location was great. Really nice colour choices. A bit on the pricer side of a traditional mani, but I'd pay for convenience.

It was my first time there at the salon and it was a very pleasant experience. The people there were fantastic and the atmosphere was very relaxing and delightful, while I had my Shellac manicure done for Chickadvisor's Product Review Club (many thanks!). Overall, I would go back there again to get my Shellac manicures done in the future. Shout-out to Samantha, who was super nice and friendly!

I went to LUX spa for a Shellac manicure, courtesy of ChickAdvisor (thanks to you both!) It was super easy to schedule an appointment, and VERY accessible by transit, located right in Yorkville by Bay subway station.

I was greeted by Cathy, the owner, when I came in, and promptly introduced to Nadia, my nail technician. I was offered coffee tea and water (so lovely!) and immediately noticed the welcoming, clean and stylish decor. They offer a range of magazines, and were very kind and professional.

When I had chosen my colour for Shellac from their wide range, Nadia tested it on one of my nails and showed me the colour. It was more transparent than I had intended, and she told me it was often chosen for a second coat. She helped me find the shade I wanted after I described it, and even added a SECOND coat of it before my original shimmery top coat, since it was more to my liking.

A hand exfoliation was included, and the service I received was excellent. My manicure lasted almost 3 weeks. Although the service, had I not received it through ChickAdvisor, would usually be out of my current price range, they do have a mailing list for promotions. Thank you LUX for a wonderful experience and top notch manicure! Will be recommending your salon in the future.

Positive aspects:
-The location of the salon is very good, close to the Bay Subway Station
-It was easy to schedule the appointment
-The ambiance is amazing! The space design and music soundtrack makes you feel very relaxed
- The place is very clean and organized
-The nail technician started my appointment on time and she was professional and very friendly
- Great service with free and different kinds of drinks as coffee and tea
- Huge variety of Shellac colors to choose
-Hand massage and exfoliation as a plus service with no charge

Negative aspects:
- I received the Shellac manicure for free because of ChickAdvisor Club Review, but if I need to pay for the service I think the salon services are too expensive
- No WiFi available
- I think the application could be better. My Shellac duration was less than a week and got chipped. One of my nails was with a bubble and without me ripping out half of the Shellac was gone. I tried Shellac in another salon. It was cheaper and I preferred the application because after one week my nails still great.

Conclusion:
I recommend the salon because of the great service, however I so not recommend Shellac application there. I would recommend to a friend, but depend of the friend because of the price. I intend to come back to the salon for a regular manicure or pedicure, but not in a regular basis because it is expensive.

I went to this salon to try out the Shellac manicure. When I walked in, I immediately noticed how nice and clean the salon looked. It was spotless and the colours were very modern and beautiful. I was excited for my experience because I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. There was no strong smell like other nail salons usually have which was great. Overall it looked like a real spa and very professional and especially safe.

I was greeted by the nail technician and she asked me if I wanted some water, tea or coffee. It was very nice of the salon to provide this for their customers because it makes the experience much better. Throughout the manicure, the nail technician was conversing with me and was also explained each process that needs to be done for the shellac manicure to last and look great! She did a great job, some of my nails were shorter than others which she explained would probably make the manicure last a little bit less than others. At the end she gave me a hand scrub and hand cream massage, it was absolutely relaxing and felt like one of the best spa's i've been to. The receptionist was also extremely nice, she gave me a questionnaire at the beginning of my experience and it asked me questions such as "Do you have any skin problems?, "Allergies?" which I thought was great because they make sure to not hurt or cause any problems for the customer. She also offered to help me out if I contact her by email to find some salon similar to theirs if commuting to Lux spa was hard. At the end, I was told that if I have any issues with the shellac, I can come back and they will fix it.

I would definitely consider coming to this salon again, the experience and service was exceptional and I will definitely recommend it to all my girlfriends!

Lux Spa is a nice salon with clean lines and simple decor, very pretty. Located right in Yorkville, good location if you want to do something before or after. Service was great, nothing to complain about. The nail technician was very nice, offered me a tea or coffee. She was talkative but not too chatty. She was very helpful in choosing a color and also very pleasant during the appointment. Skill-wise, my shellac mani is going on its' second week and there are no chips. Colors still look great and I am really happy about it.

Price-wise I cannot comment, as I received this service part of the review club.

I would recommend this salon to a friend or someone I know, and the nail technician as well.

I had really great service at Lux Spa. The blond girl that took care of me really tried to make me comfortable and happy with the service. She spent a lot of time on my nails to get them just right. She also gave me a soothing peppermint team to drink while my nails were being done. She was fantastic and I know I was being overly picky, but she was pleasant and helpful the whole time.

The spa itself was really nice. It's well decorated and very modern. The only thing is that it was quite empty until a few ladies came in as a group booking. Apparently, they have waves of busy and slow periods. That said, it's kinda nice to have a whole spa to yourself.

I believe the place is a bit pricey which makes sense since its in Yorkville, but if that's not a worry, I would definitely recommend this spa!

I visited Lux Spa for a shellac manicure and really enjoyed the experience. The booking over the phone was easy (although they were busy!) and the staff person I spoke to was friendly. It's located in trendy Yorkville, so just being in that neighbourhood feels like a treat! It's small, but the ambiance inside is trendy and calming - clean/modern lines, white and light turquoise, a tranquil vibe. The nail technician I was seeing was waiting for me when I walked in, greeted me, and took my coat so I felt very welcome. They have a little menu with complimentary teas and coffees listed which was a nice touch. The nail technician was very friendly and polite, talking with me but also respecting some "quiet time". I am pregnant so she chatted with me about that because she has kids, and I liked that! I was a breads aid Ina wedding the next day and needed a neutral colour and she was very helpful with colour suggestions that would look good which I appreciated. I'm not someone who always goes to an upscale spa to get a manicure because it can be expwnsive, but if I wanted to treat myself I would absolutely go back to Lux.

The place is very nice and the professional that worked on my manicure was spectacular. I would definitely recommend and come back.
