Book into the Markham Midwives as soon as you can so you get a spot. I chose to have a hospital birth and they were phenomenal! This is my first, and they were just incredibly kind, knowledgeable and caring.
Midwives offer care up to 6 weeks after birth, and they came to my home after I gave birth. They helped me learn to bathe my child, care for his umbilical cord stump, my own care for my swollen under side, helped with learning to nurse my baby. There was no pressure to do one thing or another, they let me led the way and I was able to give birth naturally, without drugs as planned.
