100% OF CHICKS DIG IT
This Menchies location is great for several reasons. First of all, it's right by Bathurst station, which makes it very accessible. It's less than a five minute walk from the station!
Next, the service! My friends and I went recently for the first time. At first, we didn't exactly know what to do and just stood there awkwardly. Then, the cashier came and led us through the steps of making frozen yoghurt there. She even recommended her favourite flavours and let us try them! I would give her a 10/10 for service.
Thirdly, the yoghurt itself. There were different flavours as well as consistencies. I chose red velvet, cookie dough, and pistachio. They were all delicious! There the classics like vanilla and chocolate as well. They had very little calories, which is good if you're on a diet. The toppings were fabulous! There were lots of toppings available to fit everyones need as well.
The different thing about Menchies is that they charge you by weight. So I wouldn't suggest filling the tub all the way. Another good idea is to choose whether you're going to go topping or yoghurt heavy. This keeps the price down. I'd also suggest bringing under $10.00 ( which is probably the maximum you'll probably want to spend on yoghurt) just in case.
Lastly, don't forget to ask for a Smileage card! You get points every time you visit.
Hope I helped :)
This fro yo place is self serve- you walk in, make a beeline for the cups and fill it with whatever flavors you desire. They rotate their flavors but most often they have my faves- original tart and cake batter- sooo yummy. Their flavors are often very tart but sweet at the same time- I love this combo personally. They often have fruity and tart flavors too- I highly recommend a combo of tart watermelon, original tart, cake batter and guava lime. After you get your fro yo, then you head over to the toppings section where you can put on syrups and fruits and other toppings like cheesecake and brownie bits and sprinkles. They are priced by weight so go with all the lightest ingredients!
I also love the atmosphere of this place- very cute mascot and cups and all lime green and pinks!
Last Friday I was invited to enjoy breakfast at Menchies, a frozen yogurt shop like no other. Needless to say it wasn't the healthiest of breakfast options, but in terms of dessert I was assured that Menchies is low fat. I was sold. The pink and green decorated shop looks like a heathy(ier) version of candyland, with a yogurt bar on one wall, where you serve yourself whatever flavour's of fro-yo you desire (I tried the classic vanilla-chocolate twist, and a mocha chocolate banana combo later). Then you can help yourself to as many toppings as you want, from nuts, to banana chips, fruit (for the breakfast version of a fro-yo) or all kinds of chocolates and syrups. By my calculations, my first helping was around 300 cals, not bad for a dessert. I like to think of it as a guilt-free treat for yourself on a hot summer afternoon.
