75% OF CHICKS DIG IT
What can you expect from a cheap nail place! They get the job done! I've been going here for a few years and they work fast but do a great job and it's not expensive. It's not a day at the spa with the gf's kindof place but it's your typical asian efficient nail salon! Take your pick ladies!
I have been going to this nail salon regularly (twice a month) for the last 4 years. When I'm looking to get my nails done my criteria is; location, price, service, and they must have OPI nail colours.
Nice One Nails does not have any frills (i.e. fruit infused water), but for a $40 mani/pedi, they do offer a broad selection of nails colours, quick/efficient service, a beautiful polish job, and people watching view from the nail dryer bar ;D
When the salon first opened their Mani/Pedi combo was $30 and they did increase it to $40 to buy extra equipment based on new health regulations that were implemented. I was fine with the increase in price because I still find the quality of service and polish job better than most prestige spa's, and it was getting tough to get an appt. or walk-in right away, so the increase in price has calmed the madness and it's my special retreat in the neighbourhood..
I just had to comment on this place, though I have actually never been in. (So my star ratings above don't really count, but I had to put something) Last Sunday November 16, 2008 I walked by to check out the prices of this place. There on the door was a sign stating that they were going to increase their prices because the Toronto Public Health told them they needed to improve their hygiene practices! This totally blew me away and would prevent me from ever going in!
Sorry this was the Liberty Villiage location.
This is the franchised version of the Asian-run nail salon. What you'll get is the same speedy service as the typical Asian-run salon, with the added bonus of good quality nail polish, and a clean space with no toxic chemical smell. I went to the Liberty Village location, which makes a convenient stop for those who live or work in the area. It does get packed with the after work crowd, which means a 15 minute wait at times. The space is clean and the service efficient. The price is average: $15 for manicures, $21 for frenchies, and $25 for pedicures. There is a large range of OPI polish colours to choose from. The Vietnamese "nail technicians" work fast, averaging 10 minutes or less per pair of hands! And that includes a hand massage. They do a pretty good job for the speed, although my friend and I both thought that our cuticles could be cleaned up a bit more thoroughly. I'd recommend Nice One Nails at the Liberty Village for those who live/work/play in the area, it's such a convenient maintenance stop. And the price is good.
