Ive been to a couple salons in my life, and one thing thats always bothered me was that they don't listen to what you want nor do they care about your hairs health, if that stylist has a vision and your already strapped in his/her chair your stuck with what they want. this ISNT the case with oskar on scollard. i came in with 2 ideas, blonde or red. they sat me down and really listened to what i had to say about the look i wanted and they gave me the pros and cons of both. Not only is the staff there amazingly fun but there equally as talented. I've never been happier with my hair and I've already have 2 co workers running out to get my colour.

First of all, Kim is so amazingly nice and so are her staff. It's a very friendly and laid back environment. The girl who did my colour (I can't remember her name, but she had gorgeous purple hair) did an amazing job. I just moved to Toronto and got the idea from a friend to try groupons to find someone I liked. Even though it was with a groupon, Kim spent a lot of time and did her best work. I showed Kim a picture of the cut I wanted and explained to her the differences I wanted from the picture and she did exactly what I asked for. Every time I've gotten my hair cut in the past I always hate the way they do my bangs, but she did them exactly how I explained. I see the other reviews of the person who said "She seemed to be in La La land while cutting my hair as I watched and tried not to cry." If she was doing something you didn't want, why would you not just say something instead of sitting and silently watching?! Sometimes you've just gotta wonder about bad reviews.

And, yeah, Kim does swear a lot, but who cares?! She's absolutely hilarious with a great personality and it just adds to the amazing experience, in my opinion.

I met Kim (the owner and BEST stylist) about 4 weeks ago. I had came to her in desperate need, I had spent over 450$ on dying my hair in 3 weeks because each stylist messed it up., and a bad cut too. I then met Kim, and told her exactly what I wanted, and she made that happen. I have never been so impressed in my life! After I met her for the first time, I instantly loved her! She's hilarious, super friendly and kind, and one of the best stylists I've ever been too. I strongly recommend!,

Being new to the city of Toronto, and looking for a great hair salon at a reasonable price, I am pleased to say I have found one: Oskar on Scollard. I was first impressed that the salon is open past 5pm, which is great for young professionals working busy hours. The service was very friendly and personalized. I showed them a picture that I had pinned on Pinterest, and they made sure it turned out exactly how I wanted it. I had one stylist colour my roots, while the manager overlooked to ensure she was giving the proper treatment. The manager then added the finishing touches with some highlgihts and I am in love with my new hair do! On top of all that, I enjoyed sipping on a glass of wine.. what more could you ask for? I will definitely be back at Oskar on Scollard - and for all you other young professionals looking for a quality cut/colour at a reasonable price, I would highly recommend this salon.

Ok I don't get it! I have met Kimberly this last September and fell in love with her. Myself being very fussy about my hair and the way I wanted it cut, never and I say NEVER regretted going to Kim. I have never been so happy about my Hairstyle. To a point that I see her each two weeks. Not only she is funny. amusing, polite, beautiful and professional, when I go to her salon I feel in good hands. The moment I walk in thjs salon, I get offered a Cappuchino in a second. Everywhere I turn, I see people smiling; Staff and customers! I don't know why some people wrote some very free negative reviews on here. They must of been having a bad day. Actually, since September I have sent over 12 people to kim and not once someone complained about it! They all loved it!!! My friends Moms decided to go at Oskar on Scollard because they thought their daughter were dead gorgeous. Now here's my point, Kim is welcoming and charming. Every single person that comes out of there, comes out a new and better person. She changed me from an amateur actor to a professional in the industry and if you doubt getting your hair done by kim, just think that mostly every good looking person on the street have had an appointment with her, that the actors and performers you see in the toronto area have gone with Kim to define their style. Now , I will sip my cappuchino while Kim will nicely do my haircut with a smile and professionalism.

I was on the net looking for Oskar on Scollards number to book my appt cause I lost my phone and I was shocked to see this comment about Kim. she has been doing my hair for years and from when I went from a layer bob or when I put my weave in my hair and she cuts and styled it to suit my face. Kim is one of the nicest people you would ever meet and her salon is absolutely beautiful and she makes me feel like I'm at home. Please don't let that last comment from discourage you from trying her out. Oh boy. I will never return to this salon again. My hair, just like the last posters, was hacked to bits! I showed a specific picture of what I wanted-yet ended up with the "Rachel" as well....with horrible highlights to boot. She took on 2 other clients while working on me as well. Seriously. I haven't been able to style my hair properly since Kim cut it. It is a horror story. I had thick, curly hair that I wanted to leave past my shoulders- yet somehow the shears came out and I have so many layers and its barely touching my shoulders at the longest part. She was friendly enough, but VERY unprofessional and rude. The f bombs were flying all over the place and she gossiped about different workers in the salon? I understand it was a Groupon, but please- if you want me to come back you should be doing exactly what I'm asking for so I will be a repeat client! I too will have to wait a very long time before my hair is back to something easily manageable. Avoid at all costs.

When I got home I was HORRIFIED to see what had been done to my hair. Kimberly, the owner cut my hair and hacked it to death. I explained very carefully: "I am trying to grow my hair 6-12 inches, please do a very very light trim and keep very long layers." She then used thinning shears and razors on my hair and gave me a Rachel from Friend's-esque cut. Instead a once thick long pony tail I know have a sad little stream of long hair, the rest has been layered to death. She seemed to be in La La land while cutting my hair as I watched and tried not to cry. DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR CUT FROM KIMBERLY AT THIS HAIR SALON. It will be at least another year before I can start to look like I did before, there goes all that time and care trying to grow my hair long - literally down the drain.

I have gone to Oskar on Scollard for years now. I was originally sent to him from a beauty editor who couldn't stand looking at my brassy yellow hair any longer. He's known for doing wonders with blondes. I consistently get compliments on my colour and people ask where I go, which still surprises me as I've never been one of those girls who gets hair compliments. Besides that Oskar and his team are really nice! I get my hair cut by Ethan who listens to what you want - I've never left feeling like he cut too much off or gave me bangs I didn't want.

I am pretty out of touch with what other salons charge, but I have to say this salon is worth every penny. I never have anxiety and always feel great when I leave which is wonderful.
