Past its prime
Many empty shops. The supermarket and mall beside it are all torn down. I used to drive to TO for over 4 hours to shop there in early 2000s, but now, it is but a shadow of its former glory.
Many vacant shops, but still a few good ones. The food court is average. We tried a few stalls.
The Taiwanese chicken steak (gi pai) was OK compared the real ones in Taiwan. It was annoying they won't cut it for you - management on a power trip. The bento was average.
The dumplings were terrible. Deep fried, and then heated up made it very hard. My companion wanted to toss it. The pork and cabbage dumplings were not stuffed and had air pockets. Very little meat/cabbage.
Real Tea offering various meatballs with a milk tea was the worst pearl milk tea I have ever tasted.
I used to enjoy the mall and food court, but not anymore. We will go elsewhere next time. I hope they build something better and more businesses return. I am sure covid put many out of business, along with online shopping.
My ratings may be misleading but I actually love this mall haha. I am really into skincare and this place is my go-to. The waffles upstairs are just a must-have and there's this pinoy waffle place which I may review on it's own bc they are a great price actually and really good. This mall however, sucks for parking and the workers either follow u or ignore u completely lol. Just try it.
So here is the thing with this mall, I like it for finding unique things you cannot find at other malls OR for electronics accessories. You can find a cell phone case or iPod accessories here for a lot less than other stores. The thing I don't like about this mall is that it is repetitive in terms of stores. I have literally been lost in this mall because I will tell myself, ok, I came in near such and such a store only to find another one of the same store down another hall! Anyway, it is a different shopping experience so if you are looking for something different, check this place out.
Ok so being of the "minority" so to speak there makes the experiance sooo cool and fun .. however it is very repetative and just a bit much. However from stolen or just fake you find it there. also some awsome food!
As North America's largest Asian mall, this place is the place to get goods that you can't find anywhere else. There are so many things to see, do, and eat here. Personally, I am not the biggest fan of this mall, though many of my friends enjoy shopping here. It is great for getting cheap, imported goods. They have everything here: food, technology, gifts, clothing, accessories and everything in between. The entire mall is very shiny, all the store are made of glass and the floor is extremely glossy. The stores do keep repeating themselves after a while, you will see stores which sell the same things. Visiting the mall for the first time is a unique experience.
