Worst & Ridiculous
The WORST and most RIDICULOUS service in our lifetime and ofcourse downtown too. Booked a hairwash, haircut and style for a toddler. The hairwash was pathetic and no booster seats for people with low height. As a client comfort must be priority or do not take bookings. PERIOD! The client was to be carried on their hanging feet to have their hair washed. Next was Haircut, and no points for guessing the client had to sit on a broken stool atop of a seat while rocking through the haircut. We requested a simple cut yet the barber did a mediocre job in less than 5 mins. He was least interested in his job and arrogant. The ridiculous part of the whole experience is ending with hair styling. The client was caused extreme pain with rough handling and burnt scalp during the process, leading them to leave the salon in tears. No empathy or care for a child too, bloody ignorant souls. Even on repeatedly asking to be gentle and watch the heat, it wasn't followed. He showed no regret in his behaviour for such a ridiculous and bad experience. Lastly, during covid hygiene was the last worry at this salon. Waste of time, money and burnt alive. Do not visit this place and be petrified for your life.
So i have recently moved to Toronto and i looked up near by Salon's and ended up going Queen's Quay Hair design.
Truthfully one of the best Colour and Blowdry i have had and the service was great.
Definitely recommend this Salon to everyone.
Believe me if I could rate it lower I would. Expensive, annoying, slow and shitty. The owner tried to push her own real estate business on me while I was paying. My shellac was done extremely slowly and for some reason they went sparingly on the color (only 2 coats). It was extremely slow and they didn't even cut the cuticles. My eyebrows were threaded in the most painful, slow and unprofessional manner ever. The lady was very sweet but she could not understand a word I was saying, I swear. And it seemed like she did not know what she was doing, where her stuff was and so forth. Then the owner started commenting on my hair and curled it even though I had asked for ironing it. At the end she took scissors and cut off a few pieces of my hair because she said it looked messy. Worst experience ever. I went there because I was in a rush and didn't care about the price at the time but I paid well over $100 in total, plus the tip.
i just recentley moved to this area and i saw the ad for a full body wax, when i called to book an appointment i struggled to talk with the women because of language barriers , it would seem professional if they had a receptionist who spoke enlgish properly. when i finally booked the appoinment i went the following day to get a full boy wax. it was the worst wax i have experienced in my life , it was so painful and i dont even think she cared about my sensitivity. she didnt look like she knew what she was doing , even when i tried telling her she was hurting me she didnt understand what i was saying. i repeat the worst wax EVER !!! it took sooo long , roughly around 2 hours and i was so stilfled in the room. i believe her name was mariam , the next day i woke up w ith several bruses , when i called to complain the owner wasnt even there , i tried several times later and it seems as if she is never there .........
Honestly the worst cut that I have ever had ....it was obvious that the stylist did not do a good job on the cut or the style (even to my family and friends )...but the hairstylists seemed pretty annoyed when I pointed out that my hair needed to be fixed (and then started talking to each other in another language while I sat there ) ...pretty unprofessional ...
sorrt ladies that u had that experience.but to let u know it;s been 3 year's I am going to that salon.I know mali is a hairstilist not an estetition..and she always does a great job for me.
WARNING ! This salon makes the following claim: "We Contend our Specialists are The best in Downtown Toronto , and maybe in Canada ."
THIS IS A GROSS EXAGGERATION. I have always gone to the best salons in the Yorkville area of Toronto. I needed a blow dry so thought it would be safe to try a salon close by my condo. The blow dry was fine. I decided to give them a try for colour and cut. HUGE MISTAKE. I needed to warm up blond colour faded from the sun. My colour came out black with grey/white streaks. The cut was randomly thinned and uneven. The owner tried to fix the colour the next day . It was better, but the damage was done. I got a second opinion at a reputable salon and was advised that my hair was damaged, overtexturized ( which should never be done to thick curly hair like mine) and showed me a huge grey spot on the back of my head and other spots where both colourists had NOT applied colour. The advice. GET YOUR MONEY BACK! I tried. The owner refused to refund me for the colour, claiming she had "fixed" it. Not accepting responsibility for the "missing colour" and the TIME AND MONEY it cost me, the owner suggested I take her to small claims court!!! I only asked for fairness.I do not wish to ruin someones business, but my hair has been ruined at an excessive cost of $262.16 minus the $67.80 she refunded for the cut and all the negative energy she created.
So, the choice is yours , but I won't be going back!
Most horrible cut and style I've ever had!
I've lived in the area for two years now, and always pass by this salon.
On a whim today, I decided to get my hair groomed around the ends, and requested to have my hair styled. I brought in a picture from a magazine to illustrate what I wanted.
I was greeted warmly enough, the wash was fine, the blow dry was fine. Suddenly another person came in, and it went downhill. The hairdresser tending to me, spoke to this man, and said she would be done in ten minutes. I've had my hair curled before, and I knew the task would take longer. However, she did do it in ten minutes, with tonnes of hairspray and NOTHING like how I showed her how to style it.
She commented the whole time that my hair was too thick and heavy. This wasn't my first time having my hair styled so I knew what it entailed, but I felt this hairdresser seemed more experience. I got the sense that she was just pushing me through to get to the male client. She didn't even care what my hair looked like. I could tell that those in the salon were eyeing my hair like something was wrong, but without a word they just took my money without caring how stupid I looked.
The salon is tiny and the people working there are stuffed like sardines, and on this particular time they just all seemed withdrawn and lackluster in their service.
I've never posted a disgruntled customer complaint before, but somehow today I felt very humiliated by them.
I'm going to tell everyone I know in the area NOT to waste their money in this salon, starting right now!
I had just recently received a full body wax at queens quay hair design from the amazing Sarah, I swear I will never change salons i love her, she did a fantastic job it turned out amazing i already booked my second appointment with her. I recommend Sarah to everyone she is the best!!!
I had the WORST half leg wax here.
When I first walked in I was a little hesitant, but decided to book my appt anyways.
When my appt started I was sent into a tiny room where they wax. As soon as the waxing started I knew something was wrong. The lady (don't know here name) started waxing my feet (yes...I have hair on my feet, but don't tell anyone!) and she kept on putting the wax strip all over my feet, so I was getting wax all over my fresh pedicure! I've never had this before!
When she started waxing my legs she was sooooo rough, it felt like she was pulling my skin off. And instead of combing the hair in the direction it grows she combed it against my hair growth before pulling off the wax strip.
When hair wouldn't come out she just kept going over the same patch many, many times!
I was really tempted to tell her to stop waxing me within the first 5 minutes. But I'm so Canadian and polite that I didn't want to hurt her feelings!
Bad idea..instead she ended up really hurting me. About 5 hours after my wax I had marks, scrapes and swollen skin. Really swollen, like I was stung by a swarm of African bees!
Even 24 hours after the wax my skin is still sore, and it hurts to touch it.
I went to this place because I didn't want to drive and pay for parking at my regular place. I'll never make that mistake again!
ps. the picture of my ieg is very unflattering. i actually have cute legs, not the flower pots they look like in this picture
*** Editor's note ***
Eek! Cashmere Clutch, we're so sorry this happened to you! We recommend only Sarah as we can vouch for her work. Mali is the other one there who does waxing and it is possible your experience was with her.
