Ritual is one of the best spas in Toronto! The prices are a bit higher than other places, but the service reigns peerless!
I've had the Ritual Manicure and the Ritual Pedicure which are your standard mani and pedi's with soak and scrub and massage as well as cuticle and polish. The do a great job, really neat and precise. They don't rush and I've always found that my mani and pedi dry and don't smudge after. It's more than you'll pay at one of those mani/pedi salons but it's cheaper than most spas. Really clean environment, nice and friendly staff. It can be pretty busy so you can't drop in, but you'll enjoy the experience so booking an appointment feels appropriate.
Their polish selection could be better, but they usually have the newer shades and collections, just not a lot of brands.
Hello,
I've been to ritual 2 and Nikki was my hairstylist. She gave 5 star cuts with 5 star service although she sometimes took a bit longer. She made you feel unique and like a star. Unfortunately, she is not there and I've tried others but I'm sorry NO One Compares to NIKKI. She was a MASTER at Hair!!!!
I've attempted to locate here and unfortunately none of the staff know where she is. I'll keep roaming the city for her, so if you know where Nikki is I"d love to know.
thank YOU.
I have good karma found that stylists at another salon, Nikki is at Shagg Salon.
Ritual spa is located at king/niagra st, in toronto. It is great place to go and get a pedicure or manicure, it's not fancy but the atmosphere of people is great!!! The service is great and would recommend a try
I’ve been to Ritual twice and have mixed feelings. The first time I had a manicure and thought that it was great. The lady was really friendly and seemed very skilled. I liked that she was chatty, but didn’t come off gossipy. I think the studio is pretty too – all white with hot pink touches. In parts it looks a little worn, but not that bad.
This past visit I had a manicure and pedicure that was actually pretty bad. The lady was pleasant, but really aggressive and rough. My feet actually came out more rough and at times it even hurt during the pedicure. I’ve been putting cream on my feet twice a day since so they aren’t so dry looking. I’m not a pro when it comes to pedicures, but thought it was different that she didn’t want my feet to soak, but just put oil on them and started to file them. Ouch! The manicure was okay, but this lady seemed to have a lot of opinions – told me I should do a mini manicure before I come into the spa to remove my cuticles. Call me crazy, but I thought that was her job!
I don’t see myself going back because of the bad service recently. They are a well-known spa now so I think their service level as slipped.
Recently one of the owners of Ritual contacted me about my review here on ChickAdvisor. She was very apologetic about the service received and invited me to come back for another visit. I was very impressed that they take comments this seriously. Makes me think very highly of their business approach.
I received a manicure and pedicure with Heather who was fantastic. She is such a sweet lady and very friendly. I could tell she really knew her stuff and I can honestly say I’ve never had a better manicure and pedicure. Both my hands and feet are so soft. Heather really took the time to apply the nail polish perfectly and it definitely shows.
I’m glad that I went back to Ritual because it completely changes my opinion. It seems like my experience before was an isolated incident and not an everyday occurrence. I’d definitely recommend Ritual to any of my friends – and tell them to book with Heather!
I received two complimentary treatments from Ritual2 as part of their launch of the microzone treatments.
The MicroZone Treatments are five quick 20 minute facial treatments for $25 a pop.
Using only Dermalogica Products, these sweet pick me ups are designed to address the following issues:
1. Dull skin: The Flash Exfoliation Treatment polishes and brightens your skin.
2. Bothersome breakouts: Extractions are in order to decongest your problem areas with the Blemish Banishing Treatment.
3. Tired eyes: The Eye Treatment concentrates on hydrating and minimizing fine lines, leaving you looking well-rested and refreshed.
4. Rough, chapped lips: Their exfoliating, hydrating and firming Lip Treatment is designed to plump your pout.
5. Feeling dehydrated: The Hydrating Treatment quenches environmentally stressed skin.
I was treated to the Flash Exfoliation and the Extractions treatments. For a retail value of $25 each I thought they were worth it as my skin did look and feel refreshed and it was quite relaxing.
The spa is small and unpretentious. This isn't a chi-chi getaway, but it is clean, cheery and affordable. The hair salon is at the front and the esthetics are in the back. I highly recommend the Flash Exfoliation treatment as an inexpensive way to keep your skin looking and feeling its best.
I was just back here on Friday for a mani-pedi and haircut/style as part of TIFF festivities. Can I just say this was the best pedicure I have ever had? They have this power foot file that made my dry cracked troll feet feel soft and smooth like they were when I was a kid. It's been a few days and I'm still amazed how smooth they are. My husband told me I need to go back there regularly. I really liked the estheticians, Christine and Shantel. They were super sweet and gave me some tips on caring for my dry feet when I got home.
The haircut was amazing but it was with Alain Larivée, the hair expert for John Frieda who has a salon in Montreal and travels all over Canada for the brand, so he's not someone you could book an appointment with.
