I would recommend against anyone giving to The Salvation Army. Not only do they have spurious links to Anti-Gay organisations, I also have a person grudge against them.

When my parents were young and homeless they refused to help as my mum is an atheist. If you are looking to give to an organisation that loves, accepts and helps anyone regardless of creed, avoid them.
