As a customer who struggles to find the right fitting strapless bra, I never look forward to walking into a lingerie store. Life-changing is the only way to describe how I felt when I walked out of the store. Not only did I find the most well-fitting strapless bra I've ever tried on which was perfect for my event, but J at SFYS made my experience pleasant. She knows a lot about bras and answered all the questions I've never felt comfortable enough to ask. She was exceptionally professional, making my fitting feel more like I was trying on expensive gowns instead of bras. I highly recommend this store.

SFYS is exactly what they say it is, boutique bra shop. They fit you, assist you with selection and show you how to wear a bra and will not let you leave with something that doesn't fit correctly, except sometimes during sale season when you are getting a deal, but usually they try not to do this.

If you've only ever shopped at departments stores or mall shops you will have sticker shock, but consider you get getting something fitted correctly, well made and someone to assist you with the process.

Their specialty is 'hard to fit' sizes, but let's face it, with the 4 sizes available is departments stores, this means most of us. I started shopping there about 10 years ago and now don't even bother with any place else. If it's your first time consider calling ahead to book a time. Once you've shopped there for awhile, they'll read you file and the process goes a little faster. For me because I know what kind of bra's I like and the manufacturers i prefer I can shop a little more quickly and with patience their twice annual sales (those do require patience)

I've shopped at this store many, many times - and I still love it. The bras are pricier than the ones I used to buy at the Bay, but here I can actually find something to fit me! I wear a hard-to-find size (32G-jeez!) and I realize now that a good bra is an investment I'm willing to make. This store can get very busy, especially on weekends. It's a good idea to make an appointment. I've walked in on a Saturday and had to wait half an hour for a fitting, which is a little annoying.

Most recently I stopped by and bought an amazing black sheer lace bra by Eva Michalak. My fitter told me that this is a new company from Poland that they are carrying, and that nowhere else in the city has em yet. I'm so happy to be introduced to this new brand- my boobs look absolutely amazing! Busty ladies of Toronto, if you want a bra that supports, feels comfortable and actually looks PRETTY, the gals here will hook you up.

Once a year I make the pilgrimage to Secrets from Your Sister. I've been to both locations. I don't like trying on bras.. it takes a lot of time, my sensitive skin is red and irritated by the time I leave, and no matter how much I try to feel very comfortable in a bra in front of a stranger, it is less than fun. However, I also think that a proper fitting bra is the best investment I can make in how I look and feel and how my back does 15years from now. I had always followed the bra measuring charts and done the ratios to get the right size. The department store sizes are good but they don't work on the same systems since they need to be more general. With SFYS, you do need to make an appointment, and plan for a bit of time. My last appointment was about 2 hours. The great thing is that they keep my records and know what I bought/ liked last time. So I just take a deep breath and do it. You get your own private dressing room and are assigned a fitter who works with you and brings you bra after bra in the styles, colours and fits you need. My experience has been that they are patient and sweet. One was a bit more clueless, but still managed to find the bra I needed. My 32/34DD (department store sizing) is often a 32FF. I say often because my sizes change... different companies sizing, a bit of weight gain or loss, gym adherence or not... it makes a difference - so I get fitted every year. They use a different ratio system and get bras which will sit against your breastplate so there is little to no weight on your shoulders. This was the biggest difference for me... followed by the mechanics of the construction of the cups. They also have an alteration service which can do little changes to a bra properly - I had straps shortened.. and then they mail the bra to you. Its easy and relatively inexpensive. I suffered (and still suffer) from sticker shock most times since a bra is about $100- $120 usually... though I have liked some that are more than that. Its made an immeasurable difference in my posture and my life. Cared for and washed following their instructions means the bras last a long time... and I can happily go back into hiding for another year.

A little note... I remember they had an event when they collected good usuable bras from women to donate to less fortunate women. Women from shelters or who are economically challenged are provided with fittings and bras that fit. A great idea!

Previously I had usually bought my bras from La Senza and boy does this make a huge difference! When I went in the store they assigned me my own personal fitter who measured me to find my right size. As most women today, I found I was wearing the wrong bra size. I have been wearing a 36A but really I should be wearing a 32C. She found different bras that suited me, I tried them on and she explained why it fit well and why it didn't fit well. The lady who helped me was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I was immediately surprised by the difference! My normal problems with bras is it hurts my back and the straps fall down but already I could feel better back support and the straps weren't falling down. She also told me about bra care, why it's important to wash them and how to wash them.

The only "negative" aspect is, since I had previously been shopping at La Senza, the price. Perhaps some people are used to this but I have never spent $100 on a bra. I assume that this is higher quality though. I don't think I'd buy a bra here at full price but would during sales. Overall this was a great experience. They people there are fantastic and having the right bra can make a large difference.
