Same to some people, I usually don't write reviews for hair salons, and only for restaurants that I go. This is the worst salon that I have ever been to.
First, I made a stupid mistake by signing up a membership that costs me $350. Their services got awful when I signed up because you could not refund your membership. For example, when I made an appointment and showed up, they would say that I did not make an appointment if I wanted to use my membership!!!!!
Second, the so-called free hair treatment was almost non-existent!! I made an appointment for my husband and I and showed up. The only male hair stylist who always worked in the afternoon/evening shift said that I could not use it unless I have to perm my hair!!!!!
Third, the frond desk reception acted almost like she was entitled to own this place, and the customers were like the least important people in the world. Her service was awful wen I signed up for the $350 membership because I was stupid enough to think that I would get free hair treatment!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The hair cut was the worst part.....don't even want to mention about it!!!!!!!!!!!
Untrustworthy business people who wanted to take advantage of students who hunted for budget. The whole membership thing is a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YORKVILLE LOCATION
I usually don't write reviews because no one is perfect but this is a special case where this person I found out later is really terrible and her secret life should be known by her boyfriend and other people who may have the unfortunate luck of meeting her.
I was in Toronto about two months ago to meet my daughter and decided to check out Yorkville before meeting her. I also came across this salon so I decided to try it for a cut, colour and style. The massage was nice. For the cut, colour and style I had Akane and it was not so good, the colour wasn't right and I didn't like the styling either. What bothered me most though is I found out later that a co-worker of mine that I've known for over 10 years who I know very well dated Akane (Sato) (Nagoya) and she treated him so terribly just messing around with his feelings, using him for English, to take her out to various places and for sex. To the men that read this, if you're looking for some sex get to know Akane and take her out for one drink and her panties will come off really EASY, she is so sensitive all over her body and very loud. My friend later found out that she has a boyfriend in Japan also so hopefully he will see this too. She's so fake on the outside trying to look cute and like everything she is happy but inside she's black and miserable, very selfish (likely a B blood type), a liar and rotten to the core! But if you're just looking for fun she's your girl. She talks about her coworker Yasuka behind her back calling her a fat pig and a bit_h. And last but not least, my friends message to you is good luck with your pathetic work filled life back in Japan and ganbatte with your future failed relationships/marriages you evil, nasty little witch!!!!
I had the best experience ever at SeeFu Hair!
My stylist was KAZUMA who is a very sweet Japanese man who had his training in Tokyo, Japan and did hair styling in Australia for a few years as well. I find that Japanese hair stylist are usually very well trained, especially when working with Asian hair because the texture is a little different.
I first explained to him what I wanted, and he made sure we understood each other before he did anything. Along the way he also explained what he was about to do and kept reconfirming the lengths I wanted.
After he did the main cut, I had my hair washed and head massaged. I'm not sure what brand they used (I'm sure you can buy it from their store) but it smells incredible! After my wash I was led back to my chair and had my hair towel dried with a neck and upper torso massage.
Kazuma was a perfectionist, to say the least. As he was drying my hair he kept trimming anything that needed to be removed. He also blew dry my hair bit by bit and flat ironed it in small sections to ensure perfection.
All in all, I got exactly what I wanted. I definitely recommend Kazuma to anyone who's going to SeeFu hair to get a cut. It's $35 for a female cut, after tax comes to $39.55. I spent under $40 for an amazing cut and found a hair stylist to last a lifetime. What a steal!
I went to Seefu to get my hair coloured. I have naturally dark hair, and I wanted to get some purple chunks all over my hair. Of course, the colourist had to bleach my hair first, which takes a long time. And I was fine with that.
4 hours later, I have purple in my hair, but some portions were fading into blonde at the tips. Of course I'm not happy about it, and I told them that I will come back to get it fixed. They said I can come back and they'll fix it. I paid $127 tip.
Fast forward to the day I'm getting it re-dyed. Before they started I asked if I was getting this done for free. They said yes, but I'm still paying for the wash. $27. What? I didn't have to pay that if they did my colour properly in the first place. I did get my purple highlights in the end, but I'm also out $150 and 5 hours of my life.
Needless to say, I don't recommend Seefu for hair colour. I haven't tried haircuts from this place, and I also don't think I'll be coming back either because of my experience.
I went to Seefu after reading these reviews and some other on the internet. I'm from England and was in Toronto for a few months so wasnt sure where to get my hair done. I think the haircut I got at Seefu was the best I've had. Philip cut my hair and he was great, it costs $33 + tip for a wash, cut, blowdry and straighten. The massage was also amazing and I enjoyed getting my hair washed why still sitting in the seat.
Overall this is a great place, the people are friendly and the haircuts are excellent!
I went to Seefu hair salon for the first time. It was very busy - it took me 2 hrs to get a haircut (with waiting and everything). I advise that you book an appointment instead of walking in. The famous massages were absolutely true - it was really invigorating and I felt absolutely wonderful. The hair cut also turned out how I wanted it! I would suggest asking for Vincent if you decide to give the salon a try.
A great salon to get hair done. I have recommended several friends to this place, all had fantastic results. Hidden in Chinatown but their prices are cheap and services are amazing.
The best hair cut I ever have received. $25 for a man's cut and an amazing scaple, upper body massage. A very cool place that can do anything. I believe I've found my salon!
A haircut includes an amazing head massage and really fun in-chair shampoo - while you're sitting up! The stylists are all very hip and give amazing haircuts. I've recommended atleast 5 friends and all have had great results.
