My Daughters gave my wife a gift certificate for a hair styling and cut. Now my Wife is very busy due to work and family (for which she will bend over backwards for) she had been looking forward to her appointment which was today at 2:45. So with book in hand containing the style she wanted, she left for her appointment at the Londonderry Mall location.
Now my wife has been growing her hair for a very long time to the point it was below her waist. The "stylist" was asked if she knew how to cut extremely natural curly hair to which she was told yes. She told the "stylist" that she only wanted no more than 6" taken off the back (which would have put her hair, when dry, just at or above her waist). My Wife was also told that the style she wanted would not be a problem.
Well, there is a reason that I am writting this review and not my wife as she is embarrassed and extremely upset as not only did the "stylist" Not, give her the style she wanted but cut off so much hair that now it's dry, it is above her Elbows!!! When measured it amounts to just over 15". My Wife also had a colouring done to have her hair back to it's original colour (age can wreak havoc on hair colour) the colour was the only thing that turned out, although it would have been better if her brand new $60 peach coloured shirt and her jeans didn't receive the same colouring treatment.
I went to the Londonderry Mall Spasation to talk to the General Manager or any Manager on duty regarding my Wife's experience. Found out no Manager is on duty. When asked what it was regarding I explained the problem, as it turns out the "stylist" was still there. The "stylist" explained that she took off (showed me with her fingers) a little less than 2", asked my wife how that was and was told to take off a little more (again she showed me with her fingers) that she again took off a little less than 2". She then began arguing that it was impossible for her to have removed 15 + inches off hair and that when when dry was again impossible to be above her elbows and that she had a witness that would back her up. She then turned her back and walked away. The girls at the front counter informed me there was nothing that could be done and I could contact their head office the next day.
My husband sent me here for the afternoon for my birthday! For this reason, we were both hoping that it'd be an amazing experience and it completely was (this is the location on Calgary Trail). I was booked in for a steam, 90 min massage and a manicure. The second I walked in until the second I walked out, I was treated SO well. From the waiting room, to the change room, to the steam, to the massage, to the manicure, there was a smiling staff member there to take me exactly to where I needed to be. Always offereing water, coffee, anything I wanted. The steam room was great and kept immaculate. They had a jug of water waiting for me on the table once I got out along with new towels, robes, and slippers. The massage room was so relaxing with some candles and dim lighting. The music they had playing throughout the place was so relaxing too!
The ONLY thing that went wrong was the manicurest had me in front of a regular sized fan and it blew dirty particles into the polish. When I got home, it looked like little specks were underneath it all and appeard "bumpy". But I called them back and they repainted my nails for free. Again, they were totally friendly and accommodating.
The staff was superb, quality of treatments amazing, and overall setting was super relaxing, exactly what you want in a spa. I'd go back in a second!
