the first time i went here i got really excited because we get to order on an ipad. really cool. the service was great, they are very welcoming. and the place looks expensive. the food was great, too.
I used to really enjoy Spring Rolls until they changed their menu a little over a year ago. They used to have a wide selection of food to choose from, but they cut their menu to about 1/3 and what they do have on the menu isn't very impressive. I probably won't head back anytime soon.
Overall, the restaurant is average - food, price, service. I usually order sweet and sour chicken, but recently I tried to make it at home and realized the flourescent, neon colour of the sauce is just food colouring - which turned me off completely. I will way most locations are designed very nicely - tables, feature walls, washrooms (especially the location across from Square One).
I honestly don't get what the big deal about this place is. It has great interior design, and big portions - but the food is not worth it AT ALL. It tastes very bland and I don't even eat half of my plate because I feel sick of it afterward. I much prefer Asian Legend :) :)
Spring Rolls is always busy! No matter which one I go to lol. Anyways, I think everyone should try Spring Rolls at least once. The price is good and it's a good experience. However, after going a couple of times you start realizing that they just put soy sauce on everything. Still, it's a good place to go at least once.
This used to be my all time fav restaurant, but then I tried Salad King and more authentic Pan-Asian/Thai places and Spring Rolls didnt do justice to my emerging taste buds. Its very fresh and the price is reasonable - not to mention the presentation is amazing for what your paying for. But I feel that if your a beginner in the Pan-Asian field spring rolls is for you, but Spring Rolls lacks the authentic taste.
Overall, I suggest the Famous House Pad Thai, the Curry Pad thai is good there too. Not to much of a fan of their chicken dishes.
Yummy! Great variety of options on the menu! Reasonably priced, great service and an eye pleasing ambience. The dinner for two is an excellent amount of food for the price and truly delicious! Can`t wait to go back. Perfect for a girls night or a romantic night with the boy!
I've heard a lot of positive things about Spring Rolls, so last week my friend and I decided to give it a try. We went to the restaurant on Queen Street (across from Much). I agree with some of the other reviewers, the atmosphere was nice - it was calm, I the lighting was nice and I like the set up (although the tables could have been a little farther apart).
We ordered calamari to share and I had a pad thai entree - I was impressed with the calamari (perfectly crisp and well cooked), but I wasn't so impressed with the pad thai - I think I was expecting a more flavourful pad tai from a specifically Asian restaurant.
The price was good for the amount we ordered and I would definitely choose to go there again. I might choose if different location though, our service wasn't awesome.
I really like the food at Spring Rolls, and I think the ambience is really great (in comparison to a lot of Asian Restaurants). With that said, I feel like it is more Americanized, and I would not go there for an authentic Asian dish. But, I think their some of their dishes are really delish! I love the green curry (with shrimp), and the Ho Fun noodles in Satay. I am not a big fan of their appetizers, but the entrees are great! Also, try the martinis there, they are really good (with fun names;) )
