I used to really enjoy Spring Rolls until they changed their menu a little over a year ago. They used to have a wide selection of food to choose from, but they cut their menu to about 1/3 and what they do have on the menu isn't very impressive. I probably won't head back anytime soon.
Overall, the restaurant is average - food, price, service. I usually order sweet and sour chicken, but recently I tried to make it at home and realized the flourescent, neon colour of the sauce is just food colouring - which turned me off completely. I will way most locations are designed very nicely - tables, feature walls, washrooms (especially the location across from Square One).
Spring Rolls is always busy! No matter which one I go to lol. Anyways, I think everyone should try Spring Rolls at least once. The price is good and it's a good experience. However, after going a couple of times you start realizing that they just put soy sauce on everything. Still, it's a good place to go at least once.
This restaurant was ok when it first opened but now that it has outlets all over the city the service for take-out/delivery isn't as good as it used to. There is a good selection. Pad Thai is always popular when we order at work. Rice dishes come with a ton of rice and not so much of a main. The A11 - Chicken Satay with Mango Salad is always a favourite. Not the best but decent menu and decent delivery service.
Fast food Thai style, but not the real thing. This is good in a pinch, but there are many other places I'd go first.
I was thrilled when Spring Rolls opened up in North Toronto a couple years ago. The service was fine. The atmosphere was trendy and the food was yummy, no matter what was ordered. Delivery was okay too. Unfortunately, in the past year it's gone down hill. Consistently disappointing.
The big word for this restaurant? B-L-A-N-D. I don't think the food at Spring Rolls is appetizing at all - their food lacks flavour. They don't even use the right ingredients for the dishes they serve. Naturally, my expectations are a lot higher (my background is south-east asian & I have a lot of chefs in my family!) I think this place is for people who are just taking the first step to trying something different other than hamburgers & french fries.
