I went to this café as it is right around the corner from my house and I like to support local businesses. The only employee around was outside smoking when I walked in and he did not come inside until I was standing at the counter for almost 30 seconds. The café also had a handful of customers inside.
I purchased a hot coffee and a muffin. The muffin was alright but did not taste homemade. The coffee was good.
I used the bathroom while there and on the way there I got a peek into the kitchen. Big mistake. It was gross. I work in the food industry and know the local standards for passing a health inspection. This place would not pass!! The oven exhaust wasn't even hooked up anywhere! There was dirty dishes shoved into the proofing rack and the muffin scoop and tray was just sitting ontop of the freezer.
The bathrooms were another story. There was a spider in mine, who looked to have been there for a while...gross. The signs were also ripped off a cardboard box and crudely written men or women with marker.
I have already told all of my friends and family to not go there and if they do to stop. I did not eat the rest of my muffin due to fear of getting a food born illness.
This place needs work...and better employees or present management.
