I went during lunch special and got H11 - which is the Salmon Curry Katsu and a side of crispy salmon sushi
My friend had taken me here because she said it was good but I didn't expect that it was "line-up good". The place was nice and compact and we were seated quickly after.
We were given the menu, tea, and miso soup. We weren't catered to until asked because they were really busy but they do constantly check if everybody's teas are filled.
The wait for the food didn't take too long to arrive and I was greatly satisfied with the portion. It was a bit salty for my taste but it was still very flavourful. The salmon wasn't fried too much and still had that nice texture on the inside. The sushi was a mouthful and all the contents in the middle looked and tasted very fresh.
Overall, I was satisfied in my first visit and will definitely come back again.
This place runs an efficient establishment and the servers are all very hardworking.
Loved this place. Staff were excellent. The food was very well put together and the prices were well within reason.
BEST price, good service and clean envronment.
I want people to know about this wonderful sushi place, but at the same time I don't want this place to be more crowded than it already is. So....
When I last went to Sushi on Bloor, the waitress greeted me so nicely, and we had a really good talk over the menu and sushi places around the area!
I love this restaurant to bits, and think the food is exactly what i paid for.
Great to place to have sushi when in the Annex. It's very fresh and the price is right. Only downside is that too many people know this and the lines are so long.
When I want to go out for sushi this is the first and only place I go to. The prices are fantastic, the portions are huge and the taste is delicious! I know it is very crowded but they have added an upstairs. It is worth the wait. I do take out most of the time but I do eat in occasionally.
Place is most of the time crowded but for a good reason! It's the best sushi for the money in town! I don't even know what to recommend - all the stuff is yummy! :) I try something new everytime I go there and I haven't got to the bottom of the menu yet.
If you don't want to wait, especially at lunch and dinner time, call ahead and get takeout.
Strongly recommended place!
I love this place, most of the time you do have to wait for a table but it is worth the wait.
If you do stop by you must try the seafood salad it is amazing.
This place is all about deals & value. Two can lunch for $11.00 and be happily stuffed with very delicious Japanese food. Their lunch specials are incredible - 12 pieces of sushi rolls for $5.99 (included are 2 varieties of rolls, salad & miso soup). My current favorite is the seafood salad, which is a huge salad of spring mix, kelp & alfafa sprouts with an assortment of seafood & sashimi ($6.00). It tastes so fresh and healthy - definitely won't leave you feeling tired after lunch. My second fav is the negima yaki ($5.50, grilled roll of thinly sliced beef around green onions) This is a lunch time bbq indulgence. Each bite-size piece is a flavour explosion of perfectly charred meat glazed with real teriyaki sauce, the kind where soy sauce is slowly simmered into soy syrup. If you decide to check this place out, it might be a good idea to just do take-out instead of eating in. Firstly, it's always packed even after the regular lunch hour. Secondly, you get 20% off take-out orders! So, look up their menu online and call ahead to get the best deal. www.sushionbloor.com
