As an asian myself, this is the best place to get all the ingredients for my everyday cravings. Although there are alot of smaller supermarkets in Vancouver that sell the same product at a lower price but T & T has more varieties and its a one stop shop! I would avoid getting cook food from T & T though (just a personal preference).
T& T is one of my favourite supermarkets. It's not that close to where I live so when I go, I stock up. Noodles, rice, sauces, spices & snacks.
The store is always clean.
The cashiers are always pleasant.
It is always busy but there are times of day, that are not so busy. Weekday mornings are the best times, for me.
Some baked goods do sell out early, so if you have a favourite, shop early!
One of my favourite items are the egg tarts. What a delicious treat!
If you want to purchase any kind of asian food, i definitely recommend just going to the T&T;supermarket. They literally have everything and anything you want and or need to make any asian dish you desire. I used to drive around the city going to different stores looking for the things i needed to make Pinterest recipes i found online. I discovered this place and literally the running around town stopped. The prices are very good as well. They don't break the bank like Whole Foods does. It is rather crowded and most of the time you have to fine what you are looking for yourself, so it is sort of like a scavenger hunt. But once you have been a couple of times you start to understand the store a little more! I lived in Vancouver for 10 years, and i still make a point of going out to Richmond to get a few things to take back home with me when i visit!
Awesome supermarket to find fresh vegetables and meat, but the price and service is not the best. I find that some of the western grocery stores do offer a better deal. But if you are looking for Asian imported foods and snacks, and things with an Asian twist, then definitely this is the place to be!
This is one of the best east Asian grocery stores for stocking up on Chinese, Japanese and Korean noodles, rice, veggies and snack items. The veggies and fruit are fresh, clean and very reasonably priced. The store is always jam packed so be prepared for long line ups. They also offer fresh food that you can eat on site or takeaway. The quality of the fresh food is just mediocre ... not bad but definitely not the best. The customer service has improved since they were bought put by Loblaws. At least now most of the workers speak and understand English. Their canned goods however are usually found quite dusty so beware and wipe them down before opening. They also have a great section for fresh meat and seafood.
I love this store. It has so many neat things and has so much to offer. I love getting meat and fish from here. Everyone is always really helpful too. Sometimes i just go in to look at all the cool stuff! It can be pricey though sometimes.
I can find almost everything I want in this market. But the service of cashiers is sometimes not very good. But still recommend it.
I used to shop at the location in Vancouver and they did have lots of terrific food but they also sold things that really bothered me...like live turtles. I found it kindof disturbing when I went there.
The service is good, but if you go to the meat and the seafood section, if you say I wan a bigger fish or ox tail they don't care rolled their eyes and don't do anything, the supermarket part is great, the bakery is great plus if you buy six buns together you get the tax free but you better bring you own bag there is a five cent per bag charge. You can find the Soo jerky often on sale and during festive time like dragon boat fest there is the steamed jones different types
