45% OF CHICKS DIG IT
Taz on Bloor (Kingsway): Received barely trimmed bob from a pompous twit. They charged me $100.00. A week later I've already trimmed stray bits twice and need to get a real haircut in short time. Worst experience.
I've been going to Taz for two years for colour, seeing a pretty talented guy who initially fixed a bad dye job and for the last eight months has been trying to help me go grey. It has proved a bit of a challenge, but I've stuck with him and the process till now, which has cost about $1200 over multiple sessions so far. That was never my intention, but such is life, and we were getting there. Last week i went in for the latest round of highlights and called immediately afterwards to tell them that the tone wasn't right. Back in today for what turned into two tries and over three hours to get it right. Then the guy who came over to dry my hair told me he wasn't going to fully dry it because I wasn't booked in for that. I told him i was there for a fix, and with full on contempt he said something along the lines of, "yeah, it's your third time for a fix isn't it?" Not true (and not relevant) and i told him that and it went down hill from there. Rudest person I've every dealt with and it turns out he's an owner. Daniel. Hostile and contemptuous of clients. I will never go back.
I went to this salon after doing a lot of research on getting hair extensions, because i was nervous about damaging my hair and wanting good quality hair and finding a salon that cared about doing a good job and having experience. My search ended at Taz salon in yorkville. Thinking that I would have my hair done by a very qualified person high end, i agreed to pay 1300 plus to have hair extensions done. I think in fact it was the owner who did the extensions...I found him to be unfriendly, the entire place to be uncomfortable. He did the extensions in 1.5 hours--i think a bit too fast, without much care. The staff around him were literally firting with the customers....I felt belitted in general, the extensions were cut after much pressure and a bit too close to my personal space if you know what i mean.....the whole experience was pretty much a nightmare. I was made to feel uncomfortable. Unless you are a model type--and i am not even that bad looking don't go into this place. The prices are ridiculous and worst of all, after 1300 plus in this place my extensions ended up a disaster and alot of my hair fell out. Around this salon there are places where you can get better extensions and better service, not to mention no feeling of being personally assaulted for a quarter of the price. So please look elsewhere for a good salon. The only thing I can say about this place is that they have some good colorists . Outside of that, the experience has been a nightmare..;.I literally felt assaulted. Please do not waste your money on this overpriced place. This is coming from personal experience.
