We have been to many different mineral spas, mostly in Canada, and a couple in the U.S. The Mineral Springs (in particular) are just what the doctor ordered.
The temperatures, in both pools, is perfect (not too hold or too cold).
We just love that one pool can be accessed to the other one without leaving the first pool. Also, that the second one is outside (while the first one is indoors).
The water is clean, and so are the changing rooms. They have a good amount of showers, changing rooms, lockers and toilets to accommodate the numerous clients.
My thoughts on the actual hotel, and the restaurant will be separate (as my feelings are quite the same about them).
This hotel, spa, and casino have been a tourist draw from the start. It has such a great reputation and I am not really sure why. The lobby area is very nice. The staff are amazing. We have been pointed in the direction of fantastic local restaurants every time we visit. The pool and outdoor hot tub are great. Having been on both sides of this, I wish there was a separate pool area for kids. Kids love to be in the water, but there are people there on getaways and older people who don't appreciate having kids yelling and splashing in the water. The rooms are in desperate need of updating. The price is pretty decent for an average room, but when I go to a hotel like this I expect to pay more and get more. Overall this is a pretty decent place to visit. P.S. always ask for suggestions for food/entertainment, you will not regret it.
This weekend my mom, sister and I ventured out to Moose Jaw for a girls weekend. I had been to Temple Gardens in the past but I hadn't had a chance to try out any of the spa services. While we were there, my sister and I had to chance to have a one hour Swedish massage-we weren't disappointed. When we arrived we were offered their signature drink (warm tea, apple juice and cranberries and mint leaf) and seated in a small "living room" with a fireplace and snacks. It had a very private feel which was fabulous. The couples room we were put in was warm and the lighting and music were perfect. Our masseuses did not speak (which is a nice change-I've had massages that felt more like I was at a hair appointment and it really kills the relaxation effort) unless we spoke to them first. They were both very in tune with our sore spots and concentrated on those areas without us having to say a word.
The mineral pool and steam room were great and just what we needed. The steam room has eucalyptus piped in which was great for a cold I have!! I asked one of the staff where a garbage can was so I could throw a drink lid away and she actually asked me to give it to her so she could throw it away instead (it's the little things that count :) ).
The spa could definitely use some updating. The bedding in the rooms was wonderful but everything was very dated in comparison to the opulent lobby. The price was great and very comparable to "regular" hotel rooms ($149/night for a two queen bed room with my CAA card).
