I was very impressed by the fresh pastas as well as the delightful antipasti selections. I was downright surprised by the portion sizes on the salad and pizzas.
If you are on a budget, two people can easily split a salad and pizza because they are a generous size.
The antipasti board of meat and cheese is also designed to share and has fantastic quality ingredients on it.
The pasta itself is house-made, the sauces are executed perfectly and the house-made Italian sausage is flavored perfectly.
I love the pizza here! The atmosphere is great, and the food is consistent. They have a great summer patio and I enjoy sitting out there. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves great Italian food!
I ordered Pizza and the toppings were skimpy. I don't think there was cheese on my pizza and it was about $16. Too much hype about this place, Never going again.
My experience at Terroni on Queen was really not a pleasant one. How great the food is is really dependent on what you order. A couple of people at the table ordered gnocchi, and it was a really really small portion for a high price - $15.95. I ordered a salad, and it really did not meet my expectations. It was something that I could have easily made at home with some tuna, kidney beans and lettuce.
What bothered me as well was when someone had asked if we could pay separate bills, the lady rolled her eyes and said... "I will not make separate bills for 15 people at the table!" That, I could understand would be somewhat inconvenient. But there were only 10 of us at the table.
The entire night the wait staff gave us the impression that we were not wanted there. They kept on rushing us and trying to get us out. I could tell that they were annoyed, because we took longer than they had expected us to be there.
Needless to say, I will not be coming back here again. I think there are plenty of other Italian restaurants that provide better service and food. I suggest that you do not waste your time and money here.
The food at Terroni is reasonably priced and delicious. The bresaola, thin crust pizzas and arugula salads taste just the way they make them in Italy. This is a great place to come for lunch or dinner, but expect to line up as they do not take reservations. If the line up is too long, you can peruse the many shops in the area so it is a win-win.
The decor can be best described as kitchy. A bit of hodge podge mismatch that is the thing to do on T.O. They have a backyard patio that is open in the summer. This restaurant always delivers and in the many times we have been here, we have always had a good experience. Their location on Adelaide St. E, however is amazing. The menu is the same but the ambiance/vibe are over the top fantastic. Highly recommended.
