100% OF CHICKS DIG IT
I just came across this beautiful little place with a friend of mine, and I fell in love!
for $7 I got a beautiful tea (made with care) and FIVE small freshly baked cookies!!! You select your own base (oatmeal, original, chocolate etc) and then you pick what you want in your cookies, and they BAKE them on site for you!
You get freshly made warm cookies! It's amazing!
I'm so happy I came across this restaurant and wish for everyone to try it!!!
This is such a fabulous idea for a cafe! I actually first heard about The Red Bench on CA and immediately, I knew I had to go. They serve freshly baked, delicious and warm cookies and you customize them to your liking by choosing your fave dough and 2 toppings. It doesn't take much time and the cafe is inviting and relaxing so you don't mind spending time there. I was surprised to see that when we walked in it was totally empty but I don't think they'll stay like that for long, it's too good of a cafe to be kept a secret! In the summer, they have fro yo as well. For drinks, they serve tea or milk or tea lattes. It's such a lovely way to spend an evening with a friend!
I made an amazing discovery, and have had an internal dilemma whether I should share it with others or not, since its a small space and I want it all to myself. Selfish I know, but small businesses need as much support as possible so I decided to share this gem.
The Red Bench is on 611 Yonge Street (Yonge and Irwin just north of Wellesley). This is a fantastic place if you love tea, cookies or frozen yogurt. These are the only things on their menu (besides the organic hot chocolate) To be honest I have only had their tea, organic hot chocolate and cookies, i have yet to have the frozen yogurt, partially because its cold out and partially because i don't get this trend of frozen yogurt that is happening in our City.
The Red Bench is a nice change from the typical stores found on this strip of Yonge St. The concept is organic and made to order. For about $5 you can get 5 small cookies and a tea. You pick your own batter & 2 toppings for your cookies, they make it to order, and its served hot (about 5-7 minutes wait)! Its a great place if you want to catch up with a friend over coffee.
Its a small space so seating is limited, and they only have 1 or 2 staff on hand. If they get a rush, you might find yourself waiting a bit longer.
