I had a terrible experience at this Salon. The Colourist Elaine was completely over booked and dragged out my highlights over an hour and 45 minutes popping me in and out of the washbowl 3 times instead of applying heat to the sections she did last. The guy who cut my hair was obviously pissed that I brought a photo to show the cut I wanted. He asked nothing about what I liked about the cut in the photo saying only that I needed to cut in shape, not take off length, which I agreed with. (He took off over an inch anyway). When I booked I asked for someone who was good at doing fine, thin hair--this guy was not. He was very rough in his handling of my head with his hands and his tools. I told him I scrunch dry my hair---he pumps in root boost and starts using his round brush to flip out my ends and then adds dry shampoo! WTF? I say I am not going for a flipped out look! My hair felt brittle and dry as hell. I basically stopped the process here by brushing out the dry shampoo and asking for a spray water bottle. The guy leaves....Seriously, goes in the back and doesnt come out. Totally unprofessional behaviour. I scrunch my hair with some water pay and leave. This salon is an embarassment to the Toni&Guy;name--openly using Oribe products!!
I went to get partial highlights and a cut. I am decently knowledgeable about hair and what I want. I bought a Groupon to try this place out as a first-timer - but I'm rating the price based on the regular prices. It's a small place and a bit cramped... you have to enter through their back door in winter.
My highlights took some time since I have very dark brown hair and wanted to go to caramel and toffee tones. My colorist (Mike) took his time and listened to what I wanted. The end result was lighter than I expected (due to more highlights than I expected) but I can't believe how great it looks for so light a colour on me! It actually looks amazing. Now the big plus- we discussed how my hair is naturally dry, so double processing makes me hate the texture. For the first time in my life, my hair does not feel rough-cuticled post highlights. I don't highlight often, but given these results with Mike, I would certainly consider keeping it up. $110 for partial highlights. Service 4.5*
My cut is very blah. It looked great styled professionally, but it doesn't pass the real-life test. I am a wash and go girl.... low to no maintenance. The cut ends up looking disheveled and sloppy. I am not questioning the technique capability - but I am questioning this cut for me based on my clearly stated lifestyle. The stylist is only as good as the cut he gives you. I would not return for the cut. Besides, I was just not simpatico with the stylist who was bragging and talking about his designer labels the entire time. YUK. Service 2* and I'm being generous - $75 for cut. (I'm headed back to Civello Rosedale for my next cut - it's the same price for a stellar cut)
I got a haircut here, and I really like it. They did an awesome job.
I would highly recommend this place.
Great stylists, and great technique.
However on another note, it is a bit pricey, so remember to bring out your wallet. :)
I got my hair cut and dyed there but when i got home, the colour looked a little bit off. I called them and they re-coloured it at no cost until i was satisfied with it. My sister also gets her perms done there.
Perms on asian hair can be disastrous but it turns out great everytime she comes home!
if you're going to get a colour... ask for tristan!!! he is awesome!!!
The salon is great, very trendy and clean. I get my hair cut here every time by Naomi. She's great especially with Asian hair since she's originally from Toni & Guy Japan. The service is great, and they actually listen to what you want. She's on leave right now, so I'm going to try someone else, hope it'll be great! I've heard great things about the other stylists and this particular branch has apparently won lots of awards.
I wanted to get a bob done and was apprehensive because Naomi wasn't there and because I was cutting off so much hair. But I got set up with a stylist named Bruno, and it was amazing! :) He listened to everything I said and gave great advice too. I came out happy and got tons of compliments.

I've been here to cuts, color, highlights. Though I go to a bunch of different salons (to find the best ones in the city to share with you!), I still think these guys are the best place to go for a haircut. I have long hair and love the layers and the way my hair moves when I have a TONI&GUY cut. This particular location has won a lot of awards for different things including color and makeup.
