I filed a complaint with Toronto Health Services.
A Brazilian wax job drew blood and wounded my skin.
They didn't really care and were happy to take my money.

This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had, the staff was rude and they cannot deliver on what your intended style was AT ALL. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! The owner Tonyc is ***. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE.

I've been going to Tonyc for years for all my hair needs and they always do a wonderful job. Recently I decided to treat myself for a much needed mani and pedi and was extremely satisfied! I'll keep on coming back!
DON'T EVER GO HERE!
This place has got to be the worst nail and hair place we have ever been to. The service is absolutely unacceptable. I hooked for 4 people and we expected good service since this place was quite pricey. I booked an appt for 12 but they made us wait outside until 1215 for our mani and pedi. I let my Mom and sister go first. There was another lady who was busy with another customer. The manicurist name was Anna. Now, when she was done with the customer and knowing that I have been waiting for 1 hr for my mani and pedi, she still went outside the "spa area" (a very small congested room which includes 2 pedi chairs and 2 manicure tables) and left to get another customer. She bypassed me and insisted and helping the other customer.
I can't believe she didn't even bother asking me whether I was going for a mani/pedi. Although, she already knew that because before she left the room, another manicurist mentioned it to her.
So I tried searching for the manager and no one seems to be at the scene. I went to the receptionist and mentioned it to her. The manager with curly hair (Luka or Marco) went into the room told Anna to stop but Anna refused. Then, arguments started and was arising. The manager with the curly hair just closed the door. I found this very rude.
This was absolutely frustrating because
1- I have been waiting for 1 hr and 15 min for nothing
2- This lady Anna would rather get on to the floor and change the other lady's nail polish than reschedule her
3- She was blaming us for booking it 2 days in advance with just one lady
I did call 2 days in advance to book an appointment and mentioned that there were 3 of us. I didn't care who does it. I do not mind. I just really wanted to have a relaxation day with my family.
This really boggled my mind. The worst part is
- this place has 2 managers, Luka and Marco
They can't de-escalate the situation .
The other customer was just blabbing the whole time and blaming the receptionist.
The receptionist was blaming the computer.
The managers were not to be seen and not at the scene. They were too busy cutting somebody else's hair.
At the end of the day, I wasted 2 1/2 hrs in this place and it just made me horribly stressed out and just mind boggling how service is taken account. The worst part is you can tell how managers can;t manage a facility.
I wish they would have talked to Anna and the other lady customer. Noted that there was a person with an appointment and just asked her to come back in 30 min or so. Also, for the managers to be at the scene in the "spa area" as opposed to keep telling the receptionists to talk to everyone back there.
This place is NOT managed well and WILL NEVER GO BACK HERE!
The best color and cut that I have ever had. I walked by the salon the day before and saw a special advertised for cut, highlight, wash, etc. and gave it a shot today. My stylist was Klaudia. She took the time to highlight my entire head and it looks great. The blonde highlights look so natural. The haircut followed and she did layers that also turned out great. I'll definitely be going back to her for future appointments.
I've been going to Tonyc for years!!!! Very friendly staff!! They have been supporting my hair needs for the past 6 years and have never let me down. You can always expect great service from them no matter what. Highly recommend them.
Last night I experienced the worst customer service of my life.
My mom and I went to Sherway Gardens, a mall located in Etobicoke, Ontario. She was looking for a specific colour of nail polish by O.P.I. called Pretzel My Buttons. So we went to Trade Secrets, a salon that carries a wide variety of nail polish. Their polish is put on flat shelves, and the titles of the polishes are labeled at the front so you can just look without touching any products. When she couldn’t find the specific shade, she asked a staff member if they carried it. She told us Pretzel My Buttons had just been discontinued, but it was fairly recent so another salon, Tonyc, might still have it.
This is where the nightmare began.
We entered Tonyc and looked at their selection of O.P.I.. Unlike the previous salon, the bottles were not labeled at the front, so we had to pick up every bottle and look underneath to see what the shade was called. After looking at most of the nude tones, my mom put a bottle back. Because these shelves are on a slant – and when you take one out the rest slide forward – the bottles behind the one she put back put pressure on the front bottle. It was pushed off the edge and came crashing to the ground, causing the bottle to break. My legs and feet were covered with polish and glass. My mom’s Hunter boots and expensive scarf were covered with polish as well. I looked at the front counter. The woman working there glanced up at us, but then looked back to her computer and ignored us. A man mopping the floors in the salon area walked over to see what the cause of the noise was, but after taking a quick glance he turned around and walked away. Then an older staff member *** walked into the area. She freaked out, “The floooooors!!”
So my mom looked at her and said, “Um, excuse me. Can I have some help here? We’re covered in polish.” She shoved a box of tissues in my mom’s hand without making eye contact. I’m sorry, but how does she work there? Everyone knows that a tissue doesn’t remove polish – you need nail polish remover for that. It turns out they had some bottles of nail polish remover ready to use… except they were too busy using it to clean their floors.
By the time they gave us the remover and a dirty cloth, the pale polish was already dried on my nice black Dr. Marten’s and my mom’s deep blue boots. That’s when they started to blame us, calling us “careless”. We explained we were being very careful. We explained it was the way the shelves were built. We explained that because it was on a slant, it’s easy for the bottles to fall over. My mom even explained she had seen this happen several times to other people.
A male stylist who worked there said in a cocky voice, “Well I’ve been working here for two years and I have never seen it happen in my lifetime.” She never asked him if he saw it. She was informing him that she had. He continued to argue, blaming both us and O.P.I. as the shelf was sent to the salon by the company. He told us that if we had a problem to contact them. He kept going on and on, so my mom asked him if he could stop talking. He wouldn’t. Then a blonde woman ** came around from the back and freaked out, yelling at us and telling us to “go to hell”. They were ganging up on us, with staff that hadn’t even seen what happened joining in and yelling at us. The manager stood off to the side and didn’t say a word, being a bystander as his staff bullied us. I mentioned that their product had ruined my shoes, and then the argumentative stylist said, “We’ve been great to you. We’ve supplied you with rags.” Yes, they lent us rags. After we had to practically beg for them, and way after the polish had already dried.
No one asked us if we were okay. No one was concerned about their customer’s safety. The glass could have injured me, and even if it was our fault or not, it was in their store and if I got hurt it would be a liability. But instead they were too concerned about their ugly tile floors, and they were too busy blaming us for ruining it.
I am never entering their business again.

I've been going to Tonyc, Sherway for many years and always walk out with a great cut/color. People often want to know where I got my cut. Marco is the best!
I used to love Tonyc at Sherway Gardens, that is until today. I went there to get base colour and Half head of highlights and left there spending $ 250 and that its with out a cut or anything. The dye job I got was completely sloppy. I say that literally as the hair stylist that was doing my hair got dye all over my neck and face. Getting dye on your fore head or ears is normal, but this was literally all over my check, even with use of dye remover, which didnt get it off, she proceeded to get something stronger and it literally burnt my skin. The girl said it was because I have perfect skin and its harder to remove. Well its still is perfect aside from the huge dye marks I have everywhere. The hairstylist didnt even apologize. Not to mention she rushed me for her next costumer so I left there with out even a proper blow out. I literally could have went to shoppers and spent 30 bucks and did a better job myself. I was never rude at all during the process of this and literally wouldnt have said anything but my mom said it was completely unacceptable and thinking about it now it was. When your spending that much money you should feel pampered and relaxed when you leave. Not so annoyed that youll never go back there and tell people to not go there.
The highlights she did were so bad and uneven that at the end she said "with these kind of highlights you need to wear your hair curly, so it blends in".... really?
All in all, unless you go there for a specific person who comes highly with recommendations, don't go there for a walk in.
If you're suffering from boyfriends, bullcrap, or blah, see Gianmarco. He'll fix it all. He costs more than cheesecake, but less than twenty minutes with your therapist.
