Twin Brothers is one of my favorite authentic Bahamian restaurants. This is the first time I've gone to the location at Potter's Cay Dock, located underneath the bridge from downtown Nassau to Paradise Island, on a stretch of other food stalls/restaurants.
This location is located at the Fish Fry at Arawak Cay, between Cable Beach and Junkanoo Beach, a few km's before you get to downtown Nassau. This location was also featured in the New York Times and The Food Network.
They are best known for their awesome daiquiri's, but I normally have the Bahamian Sky Juice. A potent drink consisting of coconut water, condensed milk and gin (I swear they put rum in there too). I've tried many sky juice from all over the islands of Bahamas and this one was by far the BEST!!!
Aside from their drinks, their food is authentic as it feels like it's coming from your "grammies" kitchen. They host a wide variety, something for everyone and great portions too. I personally love the fresh made-to-order conch salad, conch fritters and their seafood plates that comes with a choice of rice and two sides. My faves are the macaroni pie and cold potato salad.
NOTE: To picky/funny eaters, if you order a whole fish, it comes as a "whole fish" ...head on and everything, you can ask to get the fish head removed.
If you're ever in or around Bahamas with your family for a more formal-ish experience, make sure to stop off at Twin Brothers, Arawak Cay location :)
This location is only a 10 min bus ride from downtown Nassau or the cruise port. You can hop on one of the mini-buses for $1.25 per person, each way.
