If you come for the view and just drinks, I'd say thumbs up! It's a gorgeous patio in the heart of old Montreal.

However.

If you come for dinner you will be disappointed. The food is very mediocre considering it's part of a 5 star hotel (the Nelligan hotel, btw is amazing). We were especially disappointed with the service. We looked at the menu at the hostess stand and I noticed a chicken dish I wanted, but it had pork in it. I asked the hostess if it was the sort of restaurant where you could ask them to hold the pork (sometimes restaurants refuse exceptions). She said it was no problem. When I ordered it from our server sans pork, she said it was no problem. After we had ordered and been waiting for a good 20-30 minutes, the server comes over and says unfortunately the pork is integrated into the sauce so you'll need to select something else from the menu. We didn't have any bread or anything to munch on and it was almost 10pm at this point so I was really hungry. There wasn't anything else on the menu that interested me, so she suggested a salad that had the option to add chicken to it. It had dried apricots in it, which I don't like but I decided to go for it since there wasn't anything else that interested me. I noticed that option on the menu was a few dollars less than what I had ordered, however they charged me for the meal I ordered that I did not receive. We only noticed this when we got back to the hotel.

The salad was bland and so full of dried apricots I had an entire side plate heaping full. It was gross. To top it off, my husband's steak was served cold. The server didn't even attempt to fix it. She kept saying, "So.. should I ask the manager to come over? Or...should I get you some bread? Um...." She made it our problem.. We didn't want to whine to the manager about it, we expected her to suggest a way to improve the suggestion like at any good restaurant. She had nothing to offer except a 10% discount, which since I had overpaid for my meal wasn't a good offer. We paid anyway since we were tired and agreed we wouldn't make the mistake of eating there again. Even if we had received what we had ordered and it was the appropriate temperature, it wasn't good.

The view however, thumbs up. The food... fugheddaboutit!
